Hi
My one bed place has an enormous kitchen diner with living room. So far only singles and couples have booked. How do I best widen my market? I have a sofa bed in the living room. Is this clear in my listing?

Hello @Trudy125
Honestly? no it's not clear that your cottage has a sofa bed because if you look on "where you will sleep" photos, you see a double bed with sheets that look rather ruffled and the other picture shows furniture in the lounge and I can't make out a sofa bed. Rather dark too that photo.
The kitchen is lovely but the pictures don't do it justice if you say it's enormous. How about zooming out and taking most of the photos in landscape mode to give guests a better idea of volume? I can see a sofa bed in front of the kitchen window? but it's not the photo showing in the "where you will sleep" section?
I would take another photo of the shower as you only see the top half of it on your listing and guests really want to see this room. No picture of the loo so is it in with the shower or separate maybe?
All the best

i hope you take my suggestion in the spirit it is given.
There is too much stuff in your cottage. I suggest removing the bookcases, wood bench and what looks like a secretary or china cabinet. All this furniture makes your space look smaller because it’s cluttered. Remember—less is more.
Create an appealing bedroom. As @Joelle43 said, the bed looks rumpled. Add a couple more pillows on the bed and remove those towels. Replace with a lovely throw.
The unit does not appear large enough to house 5 people comfortably. Consider decreasing that number to 2 or 3 max. This also may be the reason you’re only getting singles or couples.
Also, the lawn should be mowed so that landscaping always look attractive.
Hope this helps to make your cottage more appealing to guests.
@Trudy125 The theme of your place comes across as 'quaint and comfy', best to stick to that vein of thought about how many you allow (2 sounds perfect as others have said) and what photos you show.
@Trudy125 , I agree with all the comments/suggestions made by our fellow host(s). I couldn’t see if the one bathroom is located in the master bedroom or in a place where other guest(s) can access without having to enter the master bedroom. Keep in mind you have 1 bathroom to accommodate max of 4-5 guest(s). Can your septic/sewer lines handle 4+ guest(s)? With one bathroom, this may limit the number of guest(s) wanting to book your place unless of course it’s a family. Personally, if I’m traveling with other(s) I would not want to share a bathroom with another couple.
