While searching as a guest I have come across other hosts with a promotion on the top of their page that says:
"Add and extra night and save
Extend your stay by adding Mar 6 for only $xx."
Then there's a link to click that says "add night" right next to it. I can't find out how to add this promotion to my listings. Does anyone know how to go about adding this? Thank you.

This is not a promotion, but Airbnb informing the guest about extending the stay can be interesting because of available discounts.
For example: if a guest wants to books 6 nights and there is a weekly discount set, adding a 7th night to the booking will be at low costs.

Thank you very much Emiel1!
Did you ever hear back from Airbnb how to do this? I have same issue, never comes up on my listing when I have 3rd night discounted
This is not true. i have set up five day and weekly discounts but when i enquire about booking four and six days that option still doesn’t show up to add an extra night at the bottom. if i change to extra day then it just shows a negative discount in green on the payment summary. there must be a specific setting for option to add an extra night for a discount regardless of the number of nights booked. still looking for it.

@Bhumika Adding my thoughts here as I am now trying to figure out where those offers/discounts are coming from. I agree with Jason that it is not applicable to all lenght stay discounts (I have tested it on my listing) - which makes me wonder if perhaps these discounts are available on listings that use airbnb's dynamic pricing algorithm. I am using a 3rd party software which does have its own strategies to fill in those gaps but it's all in the backend and not visible on airbnb as a "discount".
I would love to know the same... I want to learn the math calculation -
day 1 = original price
day 2 = same
day 3 = same
Now - offer day 4 at 7% discount. (does this discount only day four or all the days?
And if you have a bigger discount for the week, I.e. 10% , does the bigger discount apply (and not stack with the four night discount)?
Airbnb controls when the callout appears to a guest; not the Host. It is dependent on what pricing is set by the Host though; before or after the proposed dates. I have only seen this callout (as I recall) when a guest booked over a weekend (Fri/Sat) and the day before (Thur) or after (Sun) is 20% (or more) lower nightly rate:
In @Leah401 's example, the guest is proposing a Fri/Sat reservation. She discounted the price approx 26% (over 20%) for Sunday. This triggered Airbnb to add the callout to the proposed reservation:
