Hello all!
We currently have a Full on Splash Pad in our backyard connected to the back porch poured in concrete. (A Permanent Structure). Whom or how do I contact Airbnb to get this listed as an Amenity? Just as a swimming pool is listed. This is a great feature I am sure many parents would use when it came to filtering their searches. Please help thanks so much!!
Hi @Ashley1659 I shall present the counter argument to @Joelle43 . If all amenity suggestions were allowed the list would be waaaaay to long. We have a croquet lawn - should that be an amenity? There has to be an element of common sense and amenities only added to the list if perhaps some percentage of properties (10?, 30?)% of properties have them.
My question to you would be, shouldn’t we be catering to the consumer, or the guest in this case. Just because not many properties have the feature or “amenity” doesn’t mean it would be highly sought after if given the option….I agree with you in the sense that not every single thing should be listed as an amenity but we’re talking about 2 different things here completely….I’m talking about something that’s part of the property and your referring to a game setup in the yard….which in my opinion would fall into the game’s category? Putting an amenity up that a TON of people would use is different then stacking it with amenities only a few will choose to use….It is my opinion that just as many people filtering for pools or hot tubs would be filtering for splash pads if they new it was an option….
@Ashley1659 OK I can see you are not into Croquet. A fine and complex game.
Anyway I stand by the point that until a certain percentage of properties have a particular amenity it should not make the list.
I would not be filtering for a splash pad because I have never heard of it and have no idea what it is.
Hello @Ashley1659
My favourite topic - NOT😉 Why doesn't Airbnb offer more filters/amenities?- the list is ridiculously small and yet the offer of listings has never been so high. By increasing the amount of choices that guest can choose from, this would enable guests to select properties that correspond to their needs/wishes so much faster and the AI would be so much more efficient. It's a win-win situation and yet the filter section is very, very limited.
You have a feedback button on your listing which I have used countless times to bring up this subject but whilst there have been some mega and costly changes, the filter section has stayed the same. It must amount to a small tweak but one that I feel would make all the difference to our guests who either aren't going on holiday this year or have chosen other booking platforms if bookings and views are anything to go.
I think your idea is a great one so other than tagging @Bhumika our lovely community manager, I can't help sorry. I suppose we could start a thread on "what filters/amenities do you think are missing from the Airbnb filter section"?!!
All the best
Joëlle
Hi @Joelle43, thank you so much for tagging me and sharing your thoughts around @Ashley1659's topic.
Hi @Ashley1659, Thank you for sharing that you wish to see the Splash pad as an amenity in the Airbnb filters. I can see how you made sure to highlight this in your listing in the descriptions and photos. How do your guests who are parents admire it? Do they usually mention it in your reviews?
As you said, this is an interesting suggestion and maybe many potential guests who have kids would love these additional amenities in a listing. I would recommend you share this suggestion in the feedback form.
Hi, yes almost every single one of our 5 star reviews mentions the splash pad specifically!
I have shared via the feedback forum but have not heard anything back…
Hi @Ashley1659
That is a cooool feature! I see you have a cover photo of it and it's in your title. That is what I would do if I had an outstanding, unique amenity that is not "searchable" using filters. Airbnb does change what filters appear for guests depending on what is in demand and popular. For example: if you located in a mountain community where every cabin has a hot tub, you will most likely see "hot tub" as a filter amenity.
You can provide feedback, but like @Joelle43 mentions, but Airbnb is not likely to add it unless they see it is a popular amenity like @Mike-And-Jane0 mention.
