How to make sure an airbnb is legit?

How to make sure an airbnb is legit?

Hi.

This will be my first time booking with Airbnb, so I don't have much experience with.
Months ago I booked a place that has no reviwes (which can be a bit susm but since the host joined the community recently it would make sense), but the host is verified.
I also tried Google Maps, but the map is old (like 2019), hence I can make sure the place is there or not.
So how can I make sure the Airbnb I'm booking is legit?

Has it not had any reviews since you booked months ago @Sofia1070

How responsive is the host when you message them ?

The host answers fast.

He just gave me the license number, but idk what to do with it.

I was hoping that in the meanwhile it would get reviews, but so far nothing.

The host says that has had 3 guest but they didn't leave a comment.

@Sofia1070 did you pay via the Airbnb website? Is your booking visible to you on the Airbnb app/website?

Yes.

@Sofia1070 then as the host doesnt get paid until you stay you should be fine.

The host also sent me a video via email of the inside of the house.

And also the license number of the house.

Since it's been a while since I paid, but I just checked and I paid via PayPal through the Airbnb website, is it okay?

@Sofia1070 that should be fine. There is no scam (if you pay through Airbnb) where the host can get the money if they don't supply the property.

Just make sure you have all the contact details with you when you travel.
