I was just scammed by AirBNB. They owe me $10,000. How can I get in touch with someone at Corporate HQ?

My name is Óskar Örn Arnórsson and I graduated with a PhD from Columbia University on May 21. I went to New York to celebrate with my family (I relocated to Iceland recently). When we arrived at an AirBNB we had secured months ago, it did not match the description. It was disgusting, with cracks under the bathroom vanity that let waterbugs in. I went on a phone call with AirBNB and they told me I could get a hotel and they would refund the amount. The day after, after I had moved into the hotel and paid $10,000 for the hotel room, AirBNB backtracked and said they would only refund 20%. I cannot afford the $8,000 difference and insist that AirBNB refund the full amount like the agent told me in the chat, and you can read black and white. I have chat screenshots and even photographs of an eviction notice I was served as soon as I entered the appartment (!) showing that the person who rented the apartment is not the same as the tenant who is in arrears with the landlord. There are photographs of the AirBNB listing in the eviction notice. I have photos of these. I feel like I have some pretty damning evidence, especially given the fact that airbnb kept renting out the unit after I had left it. (I also have proof for this!).
This is the most important part of the chat:

"Also, do not forget to send the receipt of the hotel reservation, so we can reimburse the amount"

If you anyone would listen to the phone call that was, as we all know, recorded , anyone would hear that the agent means the full amount, not 20% of the amount. This is the amount I expect AirBNB to refund. I can supply a copy of the shocking eviction notice, damning evidence that the unit airbnb is renting out is a scam.

@Óskar4 If nothing happens soon then I suggest you take Airbnb to the small claims court. They will almost certainly not defend themselves so you will win by default.

Hi @Mike-And-Jane0

that seems like a good option! I will look into that. It is a shame bad hosts give Airbnb a bad name and affect the good work of hosts like you. And a shame Airbnb doesn't put a bigger effort into protecting their customers.
