Inaccurate description on both of my properties
On both my properties, on the first page guests would see, it is stated that it is a 10 minute walk to the beach (when it is literally about 20 metres) and that it is by Long Beach which is in another suburb about 20 minutes north. This is similar on our other property which states it is a 14 min walk to the beach (again only about 30 metres) and is also by Long Beach.
This is not information I have given to Airbnb but would like very much to change it as it is only confusing my guests and not giving a realistic picture of our location. Any ideas please?

Yes...this is a much complained about result of Airbnb's latest software release (Winter 2024) that is causing a lot of problems. Many Hosts have locations highlighted that are far from the listing; especially beach locations.
Here are some other similar threads:
Now that the 2024 Winter software changes have been released to the entire platform, this is becoming an increasing issue for many Hosts. This also is a problem for Airbnb, as confused guests may not book and possibly go to other platforms based on these misleading distance callouts.
Perhaps one of the moderators can start forwarding all these complaints to the appropriate Team at Airbnb, as it's affecting so many Hosts and bookings:

Thank you so much for the tag here @Joan2709. and for accumulating the threads above. I have shared these with the Airbnb team, and will update you here, if I have any further information.
In the meantime, @Rosemary243, I have suggested with everyone experiencing these issues to follow these basic troubleshooting steps:
- Log out (on all affected devices/browsers)
- Close all browser windows/tabs (on all affected devices/browsers)
- Open ONE new window (on all affected devices/browsers)
- Clear cache and cookies and browser history (on all affected devices/browsers)
- Delete & re-install app (if applicable)
- Log in with email associated with your Airbnb account

Hi Joan,
Thank you for responding. Good to know I am not alone but why doesn't Airbnb address this issue.
Warm regards,
Rosemary

We all wonder that? 🤔
The situation is compounded as they appear to have outsourced this feature to a 3rd party vendor (Elevate) who has not corrected the issues. This is the result of letting AI run the show I think. Not having a human supervise the AI is like handling a toddler a chainsaw...things won't go well.

I can't agree with you more. Another helper suggested I delete this and that on my devices, but I am not going there as I don't understand all that stuff. With the money Airbnb make, you would think that they could afford to get this right. The future in healthcare is for AI to diagnose people's issues - that is even more scary.

It looks Airbnb/Elevate has removed the incorrect callout to Long Beach and replaced with "Ocean & Beach Views"

Hello Joan,
Thank you for letting me know that. Yes I can see where they have added that and they have removed the distance and incorrect suburb comment to the dustbin. Hopefully they will fix this for all other properties.
Kind regards,
Rosemary

Hello @Rosemary243 👋
Great to see that Airbnb have resolved this for you. I wondered if you were seeing this on any of your additional properties?

It needs to be fixed on all properties. Otherwise the issue will return to @Rosemary243 's property in a couple of days, as it has happened before.
For my listing it's saying it's X minutes away from the national park...that no one goes to and honestly no-one cares if it's close to it. It's just not a draw.

Not really, but Airbnb can easily fill in the blank with some other nice thing that guest likes. For example great for remote work/fast Wifi etc.
