Listings with low nightly rate/ high cleaning fee still being prioritized

So I'm still seeing listing with low lightly rate, say $79, and cleaning fee of $100 still being prioritized.

On my phone browser, guest don't even see the breakdown of fees when they click on a listing.

Also don't yet see the toggle option for guest for guest to select total price. Total price is visible but in small print.

If guest searches for a place for 2 guest, results will show places with 3-4 beds.

Makes is tricky for host to find an approach. Oh well having my first break will be nice.

@John5097

A couple of things: any new listing gets a huge boost. So a new listing will always have a break, and does not follow the algorithm for older listings.

Many factors go in the search, not just the price. Also, what you are seeing is not necessarily what a guest would see. Algorithm is customized to previous search patterns and whatever other factors Airbnb thinks are relevant. To  have a vague idea of what a guest would truly see, you should do an incognito search.

These aren’t new listings. They have lower ratings. Guest aren’t booking them.

The only thing I see is that they have very low nightly rate and high cleaning fee.

I have tried both including a cleaning fee and not and smart pricing does not appear to factor in a cleaning fee just the nightly rate.

I also search incognito mode and clear all browser data.

why make so many assumptions?

Im only mentioning this because ther was supposed to be a new feature for guest to show total price. Also listings with high cleaning fee would be factored into search ranking. But listing no one is booking, high cleaning fee, low ratings, are prioritized.

Im also aware of suggested settings such as IB and smart pricing as a factor.

@Inna22 I see nothing destructive or disrespectful in your comment so I would ignore @John5097 if I were you.

@Mike-And-Jane0 I thought his name was familiar, but now that he has responded, I remember who this guy was. I should not have acknowledged him with a response in the first place. I think he is here too provoke us.

If these are not new listings, why are you saying that you want for host to have a first break?

By the way I’m not trying to maintain a 4.2 overall average, offer discount to inflated rates, high ckeaning fees, low average rates, or any other trick on how to manipulate the algorithm such as turning off and on active listing, or keep creating new accounts in family members name. I also see this for one of the inns. They show pics of a suite but only have a room. After 5 or so low ratings create a new listing, super low rate and high cleaning fee.

I was trying to make adjustments to accommodate the most recent announced changes.

If this is wrong place to discuss such police’s my mistake.
