Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out to ask for some advice regarding my Airbnb listing. I’ve noticed that sometimes my listing doesn’t appear in searches, even though I’ve consistently received 5-star reviews and had happy guests. My response time is quick, and I update my listing prices and titles daily. Despite this, I can’t seem to find my listing when I search the area for dates I know are available. I’ve also noticed that the views on my listing have been decreasing.
Here is my listing:
https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/1258229117215913639?viralityEntryPoint=1&s=76
Does anyone have any insight or tips on why this might be happening? I’d greatly appreciate any advice!
Thank you in advance!
Best,
Kenny
Airbnb doesn't show every listing in every search . It tends to show 300 so if you're in a busy area it may not show every time you search @Kenny312
As a new host you would have had an artificial boost so would be likely to have shown towards the top of listings for your area. But now you are sitting alongside all hosts for your area so more long established hosts with more ratings and new hosts may have priority so likely your views will be reduced.
Thank you so much for your reply @Helen3 is there anything else I can do to help my listing attractive more views? I feel like I've read up on everything and have been doing everything I can unless I'm missing something.
Hello @Kenny312
If I may suggest something, I would remove that first cover photo that is a summary of your top 5 pictures and just pick one. Even going onto your listing from my computer that cover photo is really small so with someone using a phone it will be even less readable.
Every time we change something to our listing, the algorithm picks up on the activity and this works in our favour.
Another little thing is that there seems to be a lot of information for guests to read with the danger that the longer we make our description, the less guests read them! We all have a different way of describing our listings and I like to make a list form so that guests see at a glance what they're being offered but this is very much a personal preference but something I picked up on the countless youtube videos I watched when I first started out. As time has gone by, I've made it shorter rather than longer. The only thing that has got longer are my house rules😂 you learn with experience!
All the best

I agree with @Joelle43. You need one good photo that represents your home for the cover. You have a beautiful house but I feel it kind of gets lost with all the pics. Pare them back and pick out what you feel is essential. We don't need to see the fancy toilet paper origami. 🙂

LOL at the toilet paper origami @Kevin3628 ! Thanks for the advice and I agree about simplifying the cover photo and paring down the pictures to highlight the essentials. I’ll definitely work on that. Appreciate the feedback!

Hi @Joelle43 they were a mistake on my end and I created new replies rather than replying to each person individually who contributed with advice. I've taken everyone's advice so far and have revamped my listing. Hoping for the best!
Hi @Kenny312 , you've received fantastic advices from hosts! How are you progressing with implementing the feedback to your listing?
Have you updated the cover photo of the listing as @Kevin3628 suggested below?
We look forward to hear your insights and the changes you've made to the listing in order to attract guests and bookings 🌻
Hi @Bhumika ,
Thank you for following up! I’ve implemented many of the suggested changes to my listing, including updating the cover photo as @Kevin3628 recommended.
I’ve noticed a very slight uptick in views since making the updates, but unfortunately, it hasn’t translated into many bookings just yet. I’ll continue to monitor and tweak as needed, and I appreciate all the advice shared here!
Thank you @Kenny312 for letting us know! Do keep us posted if you continue to see a difference with the bookings after implementing these tips 🌻 Wishing you all the best!
If you have Airbnb Insights Tool that is real good at letting you see if a change has a positive or negative on views.
You have to be aware of views and conversions. Then you know if not converting because no one is viewing or because of their viewing not converting. Different problems, different solutions.
