Hello @Linda4875 and welcome 😊

I have just gone onto your new listing and your calendar is open as of today so guests can book your place well before June!!

You need to block all the days before you really want to host by going onto the host calendar and under Settings on the right hand side:

==>Click on Availability

==>select all the dates that you don't want booked (they will turn to black) and choose the option of blocked for all these dates.

Do this quickly as you don't want to start your hosting career with the need to cancel a reservation.

Good luck and if you get really stuck, put your lisitng on pause which will give you time to do this,

Joëlle

Hi @Linda4875 ,

As a new host, getting that first booking can feel like a big step, but don't worry—there are some great ways to boost your chances:

To attract your first few guests, Airbnb will enable a 20% off promotion for the first 3 bookings! This can help make your listing more appealing and encourage people to book with you. However, if you don't want to have instant bookings, you may turn it off in the setting and set to request to book where you will get booking requests.

As you have no experience as a host or cohost  .....I was interested in why you decided to join our community recently and pull up random links to Airbnb content and post it - in response to requests  here for advice from  hosts @Ritchie27 ???

Any experienced host would never suggest new hosts offer a massive discount off initial bookings for example . And the links you've provided doesn't actually in any way answer the question @Linda4875 asked?

we base our advice on solid experience as hosts who know the platform inside out.

In my case ten years experience as a host,  cohost and guest with hundreds of five star reviews.
