We are about to launch our property on airbnb and I am struggling to find the appropriate title. We call it out flatlet, but I am not sure if I should call it flatlet, studio or guest-suite.
The space in on the ground floor of our home.
It has a separate entry, separate alarm, it's own kitchenette, private bathroom, living area, terrace and BBQ and looks out into our garden.
It is one open space (the bathroom has a sliding door).
Next to the flatlet we have our garages.
We live upstairs on the first floor.
How do you advice I call my space to make it clear to our guests?

You have a guest suite and I would set up your listing as follows:
I have a very similar property setup as you. I call the unit a "Private Studio" in my title but it is still classified as a guest suite.
Hi Joelle, firstly wishing you all the best with your new venture, it must be very exciting ! Don’t worry we all learn as we go. I would definitely call it an Apartment, you would get a lot more interest, not sure if you can call it a gust house if it’s not detached. Good luck I’m sure it will be a great success !
It's absolutely not an apartment. They have a separate bed room . @Sophie2456
I agree with @Joelle317 I would call it a guest suite
Hi Helen, I think different countries use different descriptions. Every place I’ve stayed in Australia with a similar set up has been described as an apartment if not detached. Maybe Joelle can see similar listings in her area to work out her classification. I’m sure her photos will give the guests a better understanding of her set up. I have to agree Guest Suite does sound good 👍
Thanks Sophie.
Thank you Helen. That really helps
Hello @Joelle317
I had to reply as we share the same first name😊 pretty unusual for your part of the woods I would say unless you're French too?!
Personally, I would choose the word studio or ground floor studio making sure you make it very clear in the description that you live above. They have access to a terrace but not to the garden? I think the word studio will also translate better into other languages and the fact that it has its own entrance and is self contained is great.
I'm sure other hosts will chip in with their take too,
All the best
Joëlle
