New and need advice

Hi, I am new in this, I do not know how to include the payment method. How would a guest pay me?  Also how can I know more about the person is booking? I have a new request, my first one, but I am not sure where the person is from or how I can have access to her ID or something to prove is a good person…. Thanks for your help !

@Sandra4509  It seems you put up a listing without bothering to read the information provided for hosts on the Airbnb site.

Your listing is incomplete- you haven't given any description whatsoever of the listing.

You need to fill out the payout method information. (Payment method refers to guest payments, Payout refers to hosts getting paid) Airbnb will charge the guests and pay you after the guest checks in.

You vet guests by looking at at their profile information and communicating with them through the Airbnb messaging. You make sure they have read the listing info and know what they are booking. You make sure the number of guests they have entered corresponds to the number of people who will be coming. You use your intuition to sense whether this is someone who will be a decent guest by the way they communicate with you.

Learn the difference between an Inquiry and a Request. An inquiry only has to be responded to with a message back within 24 hours. The options other than that are pre-approve or decline.

A request must be either accepted or declined within 24 hours. Use the intervening time to look at the guest's reviews, if they have any, and communicate with them before deciding.

You can ask to see the guests ID on arrival, to make sure it is the same person who booked, but anything you require of guests should be stated in your listing info.

Read all the info provided for hosts on the Airbnb site. Use this forum to read posts by other hosts so you can get an idea of the challenges hosts experience and how to deal with it.

Ask questions here if anything is unclear to you and other hosts will be happy to try to help you out.
