New calendar

Hi All

 

Does anyone else think the new calendar is horrendous?

 

Closed nights lightly shaded so hard to see.  Full month doesn't fit the page. Doesn't show who the calendar synced with (it just says synced with but not who it's synced with).  Link to the booking settings page at the top of the page has gone. Strange stings of code written across parts of it. 

 

I hate it.

It looks likle they have now made some improvements. It's quite a bit better.

 

It makes you wonder how they could have rolled it out the way it was. Clearly no user testing.

The calendars are awful to READ if you have any kind of VISION PROBLEM.  I have to keep switching my computer accessibility settings on and off trying to get a good READ of the website and calendars.

I really don't like it either! So frustrating. I was so happy with the old calendar. Why oh why change things without asking hosts if it is suitable. What about a yes or no function for our opinion on whether we like it or not. I hope it isn't going to stay like this. I can't see where to change the daily set price, I have to do it on my cell phone now.. grr

Yessss! Horrendous! Unreadable, laborious. Doesn't fit one month on a page. Lost link. Just a terrible redesign. Why? I was happy with the previous calendar.

Have to agree with you all @Tony-And-Una0 @Kevin943 @Lisa-And-Kevin0 @Jeremiah26 @Stephanie1933 and others it's shocking.

Do @Airbnb  stop to think of visually challenged , head injured or dyslexic people when they make these changes?

@Stephanie1933  we rarely are asked in any International Surveys here in NZ.

 

@StephanieDo you have a copy of the questions that were asked for Calendar changes and who was consulted?

@Helen427 I just loaded Airbnb and the calendar had changed. No pre warning, no questions. Super frustrating. The other annoying the checkout dates of guests doesn't have the overlap so you can't tell when they are checking out!

YES YES YES. What where they thinking. 
I called air bnb to voice my disappointment. It is confusing not very clear looks awfully cheap abs nasty. The old one was so good. Hosts were able yo see guest etc at a very quick glance. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE revert yo the old one. New does not always mean it’s better

The new one is horrible. I have to use the phone app to check calendar. The old calendar was my go to for everything. Now its too hard to see what dates are open. Totally useless. I want the old calendar back or there will be an increased risk of miscoummunicaiton. With the old calendar I could check and see what guest were upcoming for the next week and make a mental note, send messages, schedule maintenance, etc. Now it all just blends together except for the bright red current guest. Awful as you can easily see the current guest in the new dashboard. Clearly whoever designed this has never been a host, nor value functionality.

This is what it looks like. I have the 11th-12th blocked off to install a mini split. You can hardly tell what nights are open or blocked off. Very counter intuitive. I never made a mistake with the old calendar. Switching to year view helps but still sucks.

The fonts for the days of the week at the top and individual dates are too small. It looks even worse in the website.

So I'm not the only one that hates it.  It's been very frustrating trying to decipher the new format and pricing format as well. Why change when the other format was terrific? Voicing my opinion to please change it back.

Regardless of whether you have the old calendar or the new one, Airbnb should have discussed the changing of the design with us, the hosts first ! or at the very least tells us (the people who generate their income) of their intentions and why.

 

What a lousy way to build a community . . .

 

I am a graphic designer and there is a process to creating a successful design.

Identify the problem, discuss that problem with the people it affects, offer a solution(s)

Discuss the new design and modify and implement. . . .

 

This has all the hallmarks of a Manager trying to make a name for themselves.

 

The design is not functional, it confuses the purpose i.e. making booked times the same colour background as unbooked is a massive flaw.

 

 

And I hate it, too. Same complaints you all have. Looking at the dates of the first complaints, it seems that Airbnb tried it out on some of us in December and have rolled it out to more of us now at the end of January. I have given my feedback in the help center but if you all have been complaining since December, I have very little hope that our outrage will be heard.
