Hello community!i am new to hosting - loaded my property on End of November 2024. I have since had 2 bookings over our season...
Hi everyone, I am new to hosting. I am just wondering why my listing is not getting any views or bookings. Would appreciate any tips or advice

Hi Stephanie,
Your place looks stunning in the pictures.
just some thoughts that popped out at me.
I noted a 14 day minimum. I personally think that could be part of the problem. Most stay 5 days tops as typically in USA people get 1 week off @ a time & need travel time. If they go abroad for multiple weeks they’ll stay @ multiple places for few to several days to get the best of an area then move on to the next city for a few days, etc.
Are you looking for business travelers possibly?
Than the cleaning. If my guests stay over 1 week I ask them their choice. I normally don’t charge a cleaning fee but if they request it I would charge extra. No one thus far has asked for cleaning during extended stay. I leave basic cleaning material on site.
Not sure why you need cleaning twice a week though many might find that invasive
I leave extra towels at no cost. Hotels don’t charge for extra towel.

Hi @Stephanie2868! Bettye has offered some excellent advice here and also feedback on what could possibly be the issue. Do keep us posted if you have any other questions for our Host members! We would love to help!
Hi Lis,
this question has been asked repeatedly in the community. I would use the search for your question & I promise all sorts of advice will get you off to a great start.
The best of luck,
Bettye
Welcome!
I think @Bettye6 is correct...a 14night minimum is just too long for most new listings.
Availability and the Airbnb Algorithm
It's all about guests ability to see your property in search results....if they can't find your listing, they can't book it; no matter how fantastic a property. One important part of how you appear in search results is your availability. A 14night minimum will not do that for you. I would lower that to 5nights (even that is pushing it). This is only until you start getting bookings. You can slowly extend that after you get more established. You can always keep a 5night minimum, and mention in your description your discounts for 1 week, 2week, monthly stays, etc.
Title
I would definitely change your Title. Guests already know you're in Cape Town. I would add some of the great amenities about the property in your Title, like:
Urban Luxury Studio w Stunning Bay Views | Pool
Photos
Add captions to your photos so guests know what they are seeing in the photos
Wishing you much success. Let us know how it goes. 😊
re Title, even change to "Private Luxury Studio", think what people would be tying to find you.
