New to hosting and want all your calendar syncing recommendations!

I’m gathering that there are some issues (mainly delays) with syncing within Airbnb or using iCal.

is it worth it to pay $100/month for software the does that and more?

Is there something more affordable that only does calendar syncing?

I guess it depends on how fast and furious your booking requests are coming in. It also depends how many different platforms you are trying to sync.

I use iCal without issues, but I don’t think I’ve ever had 2 guests on different platforms try to book with me at the same time for overlapping dates.

Another major safety feature for me is that I don’t use Instant Book. Whenever someone requests a booking from me, I have time to quickly check the other platforms to make sure the dates are truly available before I accept the booking.

Because of the above, for me it is next to impossible for a double-booking to happen, so syncing with iCal works out fine.

Welcome to the forum,

I am led to believe between Airbnb and BDC can take upto 3 hours to sync with others Im not sure but there always seems a problem with VRBO, I have to keep checking them a few weeks ago it was not showing any bookings and I have loads on Airbnb to be honest this year all of our bookings have come from Airbnb, I am out here in Phuket it will be different for you.

How many properties do you have? if you only have one then there is no real need for a CM program we used to use one but that was before covid I only have one listing on airbnb my other properties I do LTR,

Yeah, I’m wondering if it’s even worth it to list on VRBO. To be honest, the short term rental market seems rather slow in general these days so I may do long term instead. Less of a headache too
