No single booking via AirBnB

Casa da Lima is open for more than a year now. We have a little house, with a room and private bathrooms, 2 seperate ones (one with toilet and small washbasin, and one with shower and washbasin), hall, private entrance and patio with dining table. It has two luxourious bunkbeds and 4 chairs and small table, and resting chair.
We get bookings from Booking website but none from AirBnB.
What is this? Shall I take it out of AirBnB? or leave it like this? Thank you!

Kind regards,
Casa da Lima

Hello @Ay-Lin2

In my humble opinion, having four bunk beds narrows your market too much.

Solo travelers might not feel comfortable sleeping alone in a room full of bunks.

Couples will not stay, which is an obvious limitation.

Two friends? In my experience, they often prefer separate rooms.

Families with two parents and two children? Most would at least want a double bed for the parents.

That leaves you with groups of three or four friends looking for a budget stay, or pilgrims who only need a place to rest for one night before moving on. Older guests may not want to climb ladders, and younger guests usually are not seeking tranquillity. In effect, your market becomes extremely small.

If you agree, I can also offer some suggestions.

Hello @Ay-Lin2 ,

What a beautiful place you have. I can really feel the tranquility just from the pictures.

You mentioned that your reservations come through Booking, and it made me wonder what kind of guests usually stay at your place. Have you noticed a pattern in the type of guests who book?

Once I hear a bit more from you, I’ll be happy to share my thoughts.

Hello @Guy991 !
Thank you for your message. You felt it right, and if you are here nature influence is even stronger! Everyone sleeps so well here, they planned to leave early but are late because it is so quiet and the mattresses and beds are the the best. But that I don't believe, I found out it is the silence!

The house consists of 4 single beds in one room with two bathrooms and a hall, private entrance and patio, garden.
The 4 beds in one room may be a negative point for couples or for a family with children who like two rooms. All the people that stay here are pilgrims, cyclists for one day. In August last year, we had one active family for 3 days and we really liked that. The holiday is an active one the whole day out, and evening dinner at home. It is not a swimming pool holiday. There is also no kitchen.
I like to attract more tourists, that walk here, or sighsee mid portugal (Tomar, Alcobaca, Coimbra, Batalha) all Unesco heritage surrounding us within 30-60 minutes.  We like that they stay for more than 1 night.

Thank you for thinking with me.
Kind regards,
Ay Lin

Hi there Guy!
I know what you write. It is exactly that, what we found out may be.
A carpenter made these luxurious bunkbeds. They are very heavy and we cannot change it anymore. Or we need to get rid of them.
Because the room is not very big, we didn't want to make a double bed, which is more space.
Please suggest, all experienced information could help. I am curious.

Kind regards,
Ay Lin
