Opinion on Best cover photo(s)

Looking for help and input on the best cover photo for my listing. Listing was posted in November 2025 and did well initially with many bookings over the holidays but has since slowed down. Other tips/advice on the description would also be helpful, but not looking to make any major changes to the house at this point.

I luv your place!

The most unique amenity should be your cover photo. In your case it is that absolutely killer view! (not the living room). Your place would really benefit from having professional photos done by an Airbnb photographer (not a real estate photographer). You are trying to convey what a guest can do, experience or enjoy in the space, not the space itself.

Some suggestions on photos for now. Be sure to turn on Professional Hosting Tools and keep an ey on Insights/Performance numbers after you change up the photos. Try it for a month...if no uptick in wishlist additions, views and bookings, then switch it up. However, that killer view should always be your cover photo.

Cover

For now, start with this as the Cover photo (the view is what makes your place stand out). A twilight view from the same vantage point close to sunset would be spectacular as well. You sill need to be able to see the mountains clearly. A professional Airbnb photographer can help you capture that view at the best angle and time of day. That will make the perfect cover photo.

Use this one for now. It would be better to reshoot it to encompass the fantastic view and show all the windows (the view is the star of the show, the Kitchen is nice, but orient the photo to display the full impact of that view!

Market research says anything with water does very well in the top 5. I would add this as your number 3 photo as it shows off the hot tub with the view in the background. I would shoot another photo at twilight and turn on all the lights inside the house. Are there string lights by the hot tub? I would definitely add string lights to the deck and take a twilight shot on the deck showing off that fireplace going.

Again...the view but using the outdoor dining in the photo with pops of red.

Game Room - This is great for families! I would put some other screen saver on the TV as the one now doesn't pop (Disney logo?)

Title

Although you didn't ask...I would change your Title. Save the name of the property "Velvet Elk" for your description. It doesn't add to what guests want to see when scrolling. Only characters show on the thumbnail cover photo - 50 total characters if guests click into the listing. Save the top 32 characters for what makes this place stand out...It's the views!

Try

Mountain/Valley Views! Hot Tub & Game Room

(This puts Mountain/Valley Views in the first 32 characters) or

How far to nearest ski area? (Breckenridge?) try

XX mins to slopes - Stunning Views w Hot Tub
