Owner does not want to receive messages

Owner does not want to receive messages

Hello!

 

I am sure this has been asked but i could not find an answer. The owner does not want to get any messages or be involved at all. What setting do I need to change to make sure they do not get any. Will they get messaging for traveling still? Thanks in advance.

Hi @Jason2689 I'm confused, are you a guest or host? What owner doesn't want to communicate?

Hello @Jason2689 

 

I am presuming that you are co-hosting for an owner who does not wish to be involved in the messaging between you and guests?

If so then the owner of the listing needs to deactivate the notifications from her account.  To do this, they need to go onto their account:

 

==>Click their profile picture

==>Click on Account

==>Notifications

==>Once on Notifications, they need to change from Offers and updates to Accounts just under Notifications)

Scroll right down to the bottom  until they see 

 

==>Guest and host messages

==>Edit and then untick the boxes!

Thanks for the info. Will this turn off notifications for when they travel?

I would say yes so they'll have to switch them back on during their travels but they can limit it to SMS and remove email.  Having said this, I received my latest alert regarding a guest reservation via WhatsApp even though I haven't toggled that option!  It seems to be a new thing that Airbnb are bringing in but not sure if all countries are involved.
