Hi there
When I check my listing the price keeps changing when i refresh my browser or open a new browser. Why is this happening and how can i change it? It looks so unprofessional :0/ eeek
Thank You.
I am trying to add 1 day to the start of my reservation. It seems Airbnb registered this as a hi value deal compared to the next 11 days. For 11 days the price per day is $65. Adding 1 day to it increased the average to $70 per day or an overall price bump of $131.58. At least they disclose this, but I think there's a legal case here for entrapment. Worse it damages the Airbnb brand.
I have just been looking at several sites in Edisto SC and the prices went up and down. They also do not tell you about all the other few whi h seem to consistently add up to around 180! So you can sort of count on that but you cannot count on the price. Example :a house in Edisto was 105$, then 82$, then 145$ for the same date. Then a condo was 117, then 82,then 117 again. It really does put you off booking altogether.
I am having the same issue. It has been going ok for almost two weeks. I have sent airbnb screenshots. In addition their customer support agents have seen it happen. I set custom rates while agents watched, by the next day, the rates changed. Apparently the rates are changing to align with Airbnb "pricing tips". My base price is set to $121. The rates are dropping as low as $34 per night
Smart pricing is turned off. The agents have verified NUMEROUS times. I had 64% occupancy in July and at this point almost the same in August. However because of this issue my profit it 70% lower due to the rate issues.
I have manually reset my prices no less than 6 times (for 6 months into the future). I have spoken with 9 different customer service agents and 2 supervisors (I have all the names) and I still have no resolution. Mind you, although my case is documented, I pretty much have to walk through the issue all over again everyday when I call and get a new agent.
Frustrated is an EXTREME understatement for how I feel. Supposedly my case is a high priority and the associated development team ticket as of yesterday is a high priority as well.
I'm really starting to think that Airbnb is just here to offer low rates with no input or consideration for its hosts.
I have told at least 7 potential guests as they've tried to book that there is a glitch is the system and that I can't book my home for rates of $39 per night. Some guests understand other are accusing me of dishonesty and bait and switch. I just don't know what to do.
It's amazing that this problem is still ongoing. I just listed and everyone of my friends who try to check my listing out report different prices ON THE SAME DAY! Wow. Something is really wrong with the software Air bnb uses or something. When called, the people who answer the phones act as if this is something completely new. Didn't know it was an ongoing problem until I checked this site. I tried to alter my title to factor the price right into the heading/title, but can't edit that. Frustrating.
I agree a 100% to the above comments at 1st I thought I was seein things this is ridiculous very very unprofessional price in switching with in a moment's time?!? What the heck is that??
I agree. It is super unprofessional. I contacted the host about a price change from CN$20/night to CN$131, when I tried to book their tiny apartment in Mexico. The hosts even sent me an invitation to book at a price lower than $20 and when i booked, the system still wanted $131. I wonder if people do fall for these schemes. Sad part is that I thought the owners of the apartment were being greedy and scammers.
Airbnb is changing/increasing their service charge as well. I just confirmed this by checking the same listing within less than 5 minutes of one another. It also can change based on where it appears you are located/IP address. This has put a bad taste in my mouth and I think I may stop using Airbnb.
I was keeping tabs on a few vacation photographers and tour excursions in my Saved section, and the prices on half of them went up by substantial amounts over a day's period! I thought it was the hosts/service providers gouging their prices up until I saw this message thread 😠
I have been looking for a particular accommodation in Kenya and found one that me and my wife liked. The next day, when I wanted to book it, the same accommodation jumped up by 20% in price ! ! ! I did not change the dates, the number of persons or anything else ... I feel disgusted by how the system is set up. I suspect that AIRBNB is using some cookies that aim at maximizing their profit - or in other words exploiting people.
Hello, can anybody help me? I
turned the smart prices off, because I did not see any increase in my reservations. I set a base price of $50 a night, but, when I pull up the listing ( as a traveller/ not logged in) it shows $60 a night - when i click on the link to read more it changes to $50 a night. I don't understand why it shows a higher price in the first place.
This is the first time this has happened to me. Within three refreshes the prices jumped three times.
my wife sent me a link of a property, checked it, saw the final price for the dates I wanted and thought of reserving it. So I logged in and.... price went up (no dates changed). seriously thinking on stopping using this app, it feels like a scam.
Same thing happened to me. The host even tried to change the price and it kept show the higher price. The host was lowering the price because we were repeat customers.
Next we won’t us Airbnb and book direct. FALSE ADVERTISING!
Hi All,
I just noticed that one of my listings;
Seabrook Beach NH: Hampton Seafood Fest/Labor Day
is stating $698/night. I have the smart pricing off. Other listings for the same type property are in the range of 189.00 to $209.00 per night, which is the accepted price range. How do I change this ? It seems to have just appeared. Can a administrator do this on their own?
Thanks in advance
Reminds me of Amazon, which changes prices after viewing an item (usually increases). It happened to me, and the price increased by $100, same dates and everything. Wish I had taken a snapshot of the old pricing so I can report it to the FTC.
