Problem with my listing being flagged as a duplicate listing

Problem with my listing being flagged as a duplicate listing

I am becoming increasingly more frustrated with the automatic flagging of a new listing as a duplicate.

I have recently terminated the contract of a management company that was hosting and managing my property on airbnb. As we were not happy with the revenue being generated, we decided to list it and manage it ourselves. I ensured that the listing was blocked out and taken down, confirming myself that it was not searchable. However, Airbnb have suspended my new listing for that same property.
In appealing it, it has been rejected with no reason whatsoever, even though I submitted proof that I own the property and email screenshots between myself and the management company, confirming termination of their contract.

I have tried to re list it again but it has been flagged and suspended yet again.
I can't seem to communicate with any designated team that deals with this, and customer service are only able to pass it on to this 'team' that have no email address or any means to communicate with.

I would really appreciate any help with this.

I have seen alot of blogs with people that have had the exact same issue with no resolution.

Has anyone managed to get around this in any way? I don't know what I need to do to resolve this without simply re listing it and putting my account at risk.

So sorry to hear this...

Unfortunately, if you allowed the management company to list themselves as "owner", then even when you try to create a new account with Airbnb, they will flag it as a duplicate listing in violation of their Circumvention Policy. Airbnb can see the new listing has the same address (and other flags) and this is in violation of their policies.

Owners should never allow a managment company to name themselves as owner on a the owner's listing for this reason. If a management company insists on doing this (most do, as they want to keep the reviews), then walk away. It is much better to hire an experienced Co Host or Short Term Rental Consultant to assist you with managing the listing.

I usually recommend Hosts list on another platform and keep trying to appeal if they want to. If the previous listing had good reviews associated with it, then you might try that angle, as the Circumvention Policy refers to trying to get-around negative reviews on the original listing by creating a new one. If that is not the case, you might try that as long as the original listing had good reviews:
