Hello Everyone, am New here. My name is Edward Mokaya. I reside in Houston Texas. I just opened an Airbnb in kilimani Nairobi...
I've done 2 posts by accident sorry.
This is already with AirBNB technical team but I want to fix it today if I can... why is my entire flat showing up as a room. All the sharing options are unchecked. I've selected 'Entire space'.

Hmmmm...I see you created another, duplicate listing for now? I don't see the new listing yet in searches under *New* so it may not be visible yet (sometimes takes a few days for it to appear). That is a novel idea, but may create unforeseen consequences...not sure.
Several options:
1. Wait for Airbnb to fix your listing
2. Wait until the *New* listing appears in searches (I don't see it yet). Then "Snooze" the incorrect listing that shows "Room" incorrectly. Of course all your reviews will still be under your original listing that is "Snoozed"
it's probably best to get Airbnb to fix it, as I'm not sure about unforeseen consequences of having 2 listings for the same property?
Best Wishes and hope it gets resolved soon. Let us know how it goes!
Sorry as hosts and guests - we can't help - this is a technical issue which only airbnb can fix . It could take weeks @Liz259
I was afraid of this being the case 😓
It just seems such a basic thing - how can it go wrong I wonder.
We think we have found the problem:
In 'Safety' section:
We have unchecked this box and are waiting to see if 'Room' now turns into 'Flat'.
Ah glad you have found where you incorrectly indicated facilities were shared within the accommodation.
notifications about this should be on 'other things to note' @Liz259
@Liz259 this might help but I doubt it. We have this box checked as we share the garden with our guests and yet we don't appear in the rooms category. If I remember rightly there is also a place to indicate what is and is not shared by room/feature. Perhaps have a look there as well.
Good point @Mike-And-Jane0 ! There is a Section "Rooms and Spaces" where you also indicate by each room if it's "shared". This might be the culprit:
Hi Liz!
Sorry if you have already tried this? Have you checked your settings on the listing page? If it's truly an apartment (not owned but rented/sub-let flat) then see first image. If it's a "condo" (owned by you or primary host), then see second image. Go to/click Listing Details, then Property & Rooms/Property Type.
Verify your settings. Probably should be this:
If this is truly a condo (owned by you or primary host), then verify your settings are:
If Property Type is set as one of the above it should appear correctly on listing (be sure to hit “Save” button 😊) I have forgotten to hit a hard to see "Save" button and lost a ton of what I wrote in the House Manual 😊. If this still doesn’t fix it, you’ll have to keep trying with customer service.
Let us know how it goes!
Yes - I am the owner and I have a co-host. We have both tried and have put 'Entire place' but it still comes as Room.

Great suggestions!
Interesting to see the US version too.
Hopefully we may have fixed it as we had this box ticked - it is in the Guest Safety section.
This is UK:
Aha!!! Good to know! Never remembered seeing it in Guest Safety, but I checked and it is there! Who knew? 🤷😊. Persistence pays off!
