I currently have a 5 bedroom house where I rent the entire house. The house has two separate living areas and I want to make two separate listings, an upper level and a lower level. Each level has its own entrance, kitchen and bathroom. The levels can be open to each other if a group would want to rent both levels so I want to make that clear. I started to create a new listing for the lower level and then I was going to change my existing listing to
the upper level. Just wondering from a technical standpoint is this the most efficient way to do this or even possible. Do
i have to create two new listings and delete the original? Looking for guidance. Thanks.

@Craig1061 . Dont delete your original listing, it will cause a world of pain. IMO ideally why not have 3 listings: one for each level and one combined- thats what I do (although for me one is a stand alone studio). Your newer listings may benefit from being new and your host profile and views will be visible which should encourage people booking a listing without reviews. Its more work in the beginning to set up but I find it provides the flexibility in calendar when you expect large groups over smaller ones during holidays, for example. You can also have different cancellation policies for each listings. Customise.
Just be careful with the classifications of each (two probably cant be whole house maybe try Suite and self contained wording) and noting shared spaces, including yard, possible noise between floors, parking, etc. You also may have an issue with Google Maps address verification (or not).
Good luck.

You can have multiple listings for the same property. That said, lots of "minefields" if not done correctly. Agree with @Frances3408 that you should keep the entire house listing as the "Parent" and create 2 new listings as "Child" listings.
Be sure to sync the listings correctly to avoid double bookings (I would turn off Instant Book if using for a bit until you are SURE you have done it correctly).
Be sure to indicate potential for noise and shared spaces (as @Frances3408 advises) in the Guest Safety Section/Property Info and in all the photos showing shared spaces. This includes the driveway.
Turn on Professional Hosting tools and use the multicalendar to easily track calendars (only available on the desktop)
Keep in mind that only reservations properly block calendars. If you want to use the property for personal use or have to do maintenance, you must manually block all calendars.
Multiple Listings Same Property
Hi @Craig1061,
That's an interesting project! Will you have to make any changes in the house itself to accommodate this?
Frances and Joan have outlined the best way to go forward based on their experience, please do let us know if you have more questions and what you decide to do in the end. 🙂
Thanks,
Emilie
