One feature of Airbnb I really like is the ability to sync my Airbnb calendar with my Google Calendar and vice versa. I have seen this topic posted several times and some people are having issues with it so here is another How To Guide.
When you sync your calendars together properly, you can add a booking from other sites or outside bookings on your Google Calendar and they will sync with the Airbnb calendar. If you get a booking on the Airbnb calendar, it will automatically sync with your Google Calendar. This syncing is not instant but it is fast enough for me. I only have one listing so I will not be covering how to set this up for multiple listings which can be done..
The first thing you need to do is have a Google account and access your Google Calendar.
Step 1: Create a Calendar for Airbnb. If you already have a calendar created, go to “Step 3”.
Go to “My calendars” and click on the down arrow and choose “Create new calendar”
Step 2: Give your calendar a name and then click “Create calendar”
Step 3: Under “Calendar Address”, choose “Change sharing settings”.
Step 4: In order for this calendar to sync with the Airbnb calendar, you need to choose, “Make this calendar public”. If you only choose this box, the title of booking will show AND the details. If you choose “Share only my free/busy information” as well, it will only show on your Airbnb calendar that you are busy. I choose to show the details by only selecting “Make this calendar public” as I do not include any private details.
Step 5: You will need to get the “Calendar address” to import this calendar into the Airbnb calendar. To do this, go to “Calendar address” and click on the “ICAL” button.
Step 6: Copy the calendar address as you will need to paste this into the Airbnb “Availability Settings” section.
You are now ready to import this Google Calendar into your Airbnb calendar.
IMPORTING Google Calendar Into Your Listing Calendar on Airbnb
Step 1: Log into your Airbnb account and go to your listing.
Step 2: While viewing your calendar, click on “Availability settings” on the top right hand corner and then choose “Import Calendar”.
Step 3: Take the “Calendar address” you copied from your Google Calendar and paste it into the “Calendar Address (URL)” Box. Name your calendar as well. I just use the same name I used in Google Calendar. Then choose “Import Calendar”.
Step 4: Your Google Calendar will now sync with your Airbnb calendar. To test it out, enter some dates on your Google Calendar. Then go back into the Airbnb site and under “Availability settings”, go to your synced calendar and choose the refresh image above the trash can. Then check you Airbnb calendar and see if the Google Event copied to your Airbnb calendar. You may need to refresh your browser to see the changes.
EXPORTING Your Airbnb Calendar to Google Calendar
Step 1: Log into your Airbnb account and go to your listing calendar. Choose “Availability Settings” from the top right hand corner and then choose “Export Calendar”.
Step 2: You will then be given an address for your Airbnb calendar. Highlight and copy the link.
Step 3: Go into your Google Calendar and choose the dropdown arrow beside “Other calendars” and then select “Add by URL”
Step 4: Paste the Airbnb address you copied in Step 2 into the URL box and then select “Add Calendar”.
Step 5: Check to make sure both calendars are syncing properly. To ensure the Airbnb calendar is syncing properly, hit the refresh icon in the “Sync Calendars” section and then refresh your browser. If you do not refresh your browser, you will likely not see the changes from your Google Calendar but they will have taken place.
This is what my two calendars look like:
Google Calendar: you will want to toggle the two calendars on by making sure there is a color in each box beside the name of the calendar.

Hello,
May google calendar is public with only share busy information. The sync is setup and seems to work, but it seems always to losse my last bookign date from google calendar and show it as free. I though it might be related to timezone seetigns but I have correct Australian Time zone selected under googel calendar. Do I need ot change this?
Thank you for the info.
I have a lot of blocked days on my Airbnb calendar since I am living at my listing. When I import the Airbnb to gmail calendar, I get a lot of days with "Not Available". Is there a way to get that off the gmail calendar?
Thanks!
Thank you for this guide!
Our Airbnb calendar is connected with Google calendar, and it works great. I wonder whether anyone knows if it is possible to connect Airbnb calendar with multiple calendars. In fact we would like to connect Airbnb calendar with a portal which accepts only export of calendar. So we would like to import kalender from that portal to kalendar Airbnb. Whether someone has already tried it?
Thank you for such a detailed description on creating calendars! VERY helpful!
This is incredibly helpful. Thanks for taking the time to post this detailed guide. I post on tripadvisor's sites as well. Do you know how we can import their calendars?
This was fabulous! Thank you so much! I was able to add 5 units and they all sync'd to my calendar! I couldnt thank you enough!! Gracias!
Disregard! I figured out what I needed.
Very helpful--thank you! Neither the Airbnb or the Google site was as clear and detailed as your info. Thanks again!
Great Guide!!
I had already synced my google calendar to Airbnb but had difficulty doing the reverse. In factdespite having followed the steps I am still having some troubles. Currently I can see all bookings but if I try to 'block' out a date on airbnb it does not show up on the google calendar, even after syncing and refreshing both browsers. Is it possible it is only a copy (file) of current bookings and does not update, depsite using a URL? how can a check to be sure, since blocking out a date does not seem to work.
Thanks in advance, Lauralee
This "algorithm" doesn't sync the airbnb calendar with the same google calendar I sync with airbnb and other channels, rather creates a new calendar that i need to handle to sync it with the original one.
Did someone find the way to sync the airbnb calendar into the same google calendar?
I have the same question.
This guide is only half of what I need. Have to be one single calendar with auto import export both way
Thank you for posting the way to get it to show in Google Calendar. I spent a couple hours pounding head on desk unable to figure that part out. Thank you!
I have two properties on Airbnb and VRBO that I've attempted to sync to one google calendar. The Airbnb calendar only blocks off nights and does not block off the check out day. Is there a way to fix this?
You don't need, since it's still another calendar, imported by URL. Anyway assumed in calendar the check-out time on next day. Just ilke check-in - closed all day, despite it usually later then 00:01 ) My check-in time is from 5pm and check-out till 2pm. And it works fine
I still have an issue. When I sync the Airbnb calendar to VRBO it shows up just fine for blocking the correct dates. When I sync the Airbnb calendar to Google calendar it is not blocking off the check out day. My check in time is 4pm and check out is 11 am. I'd like to speak with an expert on the phone but customer service with Airbnb is pitiful and I've got nowhere with this.
