Hi all.
We run a single cottage in New Zealand as a BNB and it goes very well.
In fact we are Super Hosts.
We have a three month ahead availability window (by preference) and for practical reasons and bookings are by request that we vette and approve.
We also have a 1 day stand down between bookings by preference.
As you all know, any availabilty window allows a booking request inside that period and outside that period the calender is blocked.
In fact it is blocked from the Host also....making any planning and personal bookings beyond the availability window, impossible.
We would prefer that Hosts are able to control the dates over all dates on the calender so it becomes "set and forget" and without the need to run a seperate calendar that requires constant monitoring and then fitting in the dates as the airbnb calender allows. (day by day by day...)
We have been caught twice by guests "sneaking" in a booking when our monitoring slipped up and had to Decline those bookings.
Embarrassing and unfortunate...and then we get questioned by Air bnb for the reason of the decline!!! They graciously decided not to "punish us for the declines!!!
I have tried this suggestion to Support...who did not fully understand our point and only suggested opening the calender availabilty up. Not practical....Hosts have lives too.
Any thoughts.

@Craig-and-Lynne0 switch on pro tools in your account then in the magic multi-calendar that you will get you have 3 options on future dates that allow you to block dates beyond your availability window.

Thank you very much for your suggestion.
Looks interesting and I will try this out.
Wonder why Support did not suggest this.

..and this works well. Thank you Mike and Jane
@Craig-and-Lynne0 You are welcome. Support can never be as well trained as those of us who use the system on a daily basis. We don't individually get everything right but between all of us there is usually a solution out there to be found.
