Unable to re-register my property as a short term rental

Hello,

There was a few days of delay before update my short term rental registration with the City of Toronto. i have received the renewal but all my attempt to update my registration on the Airbnb platform is being declined. When entering my updated registration details, I immediately receive a message saying, "Your registration was declined."

The Toronto city says they are not declining and that the listing should move to pending status before they can even see the listing to "Approve" or "Deny". They can not see my listing when it is listed as Long term.
I can not change the listing to short term. I have been calling Airbnb every day and had multiple support tickets but no one is doing anything.
The call persons say they can’t do anything and a case manager will review and respond. The case managers (ambassadors) keep responding with completely irrelevant information- they tell me that your city should approve!
I am so frustrated from lack of support. I can not believe they don’t even read my messages before responding.

anyone experienced something similar, what was your solution?

Hello Rebecca,

The update is that I received no help from Airbnb AT ALL. Their support from Host could not be worse. I got millions of tickets and cried on the phone many times and all I heard was “we apologize and thank you for being a super host”.

I wish there was a way for hosts to get unionized so we could at least be heard.
They told me change the minimum nights to 28 days so listing can go live (DON’T do it) because the City can only approve the listing if it is listed for short term rental, and I could not change it back to less than 28 days because the registration was not good. Basically a loop.

I ended up creating another listing and started new. I lost all my reviews.

Hello @Rebecca. I am experiencing a very similar situation in Montreal, and will be very appreciative if you have information that will help.

Hey I'm having the exact same issue and experience. I can't believe how pathetic Airbnb customer service is.

Were you able to get this resolved?

Hi Nazanin 10,

were you able to get listing pulled back for short term.I am undergoing same situation where I was late by one day on renewal from city of Toronto.its renewed now but I am unable to update the listing under regulation tab. Air bnb is not able to help for now but has requested me to wait for one more day.

Hi @Yangchen2 👋

It's lovely to see you joining in conversations on the Community Center! I just wanted to pop by and share that if you type "@" and then the username, this will tag the member that you're replying to. This ensures that they get a notification that you've replied to them specifically 🤗 For example, if I wanted to tag @Nazanin10, it would look like this:

I hope this helps to keep the conversation flowing, and if you've got any questions, just ask. Have a wonderful day! 🌼

I had the same issue two days ago and have guests coming on Thursday for the Taylor Swift concert. So my issue is time-sensitive and my guests have been left high and dry with no apparent reasonable places to stay with all the crowds descending on Toronto. I have an approved renewal from the City, accepted by Airbnb, but Airbnb is waiting on the City to approve their platform, and I have no idea when that will happen. Meanwhile, my property is active, but as a long-term rental.
