I installed the most recent update to my phone and my Airbnb app is not working. I get "retry" on most all my options, messa...
Has anyone else had trouble with Airbnb charging the short stay levy for an exempt property.
my listing is a room in my house and it’s my principal place of residence so exempt. The support person is telling me that I’m exempt but my guest is not?! So they have charged the tax to my guest.
Am I interpreting the regulations incorrectly? It seems completely crazy. The conversation has been going for three days now and they are telling me the same thing even though I’ve copied the regulation and explained that I submitted the exemption form already.

thanks @Rebecca.
I escalated the case and the supervisor confirmed I am correct. My property is exempt. I spent two days going back and forth with the support person which was very frustrating!
still no refund for my guest but I’m expecting a resolution soon.
Great question @Katie1781 - we've had a few questions about the Short Stay Levy from other hosts recently. Like this one: Victorian Short Stay Levy Exemption
I'd like to tag them into this conversation as they may be able to support. @Anthony298, @Polly164, @Sean1404 and @Katia96 - would you be able to offer Katie some clarification on the regulation?
Thanks so much in advance. 😊

@Katie1781 Thank you for popping back to let us know how you're getting on. Hopefully there will be a resolution for you and the guest soon. 🤞
