Hello fellow hosts,
Do you know what exactly is AIRCOVER and how can you check whether it's enabled for you or not ??
Need @admin expertise tooo !? 😊😊😉
@Vivek143 it is automatic BUT worth reading the Ts&Cs as coverage for damage is at Airbnb's whim.
Also it pays out on a depreciated basis so any item damaged over a few years old is deemed worthless.
@Vivek143 another fundamental point: At best Aircover only covers guest damage so if you have a wiring fault and the house burns down it will not cover you. Also in many countries standard insurance will not cover you if you use the property as an Airbnb even when you do not have guests staying. Its really a minefield!
Oh seems like hidden minefield 😯
Hi there 😊
I actually just made a detailed post about AirCover and how it works (and how to protect yourself as a host), you can take a look here:
In short: AirCover for Hosts is always included automatically for every Airbnb reservation — you don’t need to “activate” it manually. It’s part of Airbnb’s host protection system (damage protection + liability coverage).
However, what many new hosts don’t realize is that:
-it’s not a simple “insurance button” you switch on/off
-claims are evaluated case by case through the Resolution Center
-and the strength of your documentation is what actually determines outcomes
So it’s less about “is it enabled?” and more about how well you document and present your case when something happens.
Hope this helps clarify things a bit 🙏
