Hello everyone! 😊
Check-in and check-out times are essential for providing our guests with an outstanding experience. In fact, some travelers choose our accommodations specifically because the timing aligns with their needs.
What check-out time do you offer? Are you flexible with this schedule? Have you made any adjustments based on guest feedback?
We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments! What do you consider the best check-out time, and why?
Warm regards! 🦋
Yes, I am flexible with late checkouts.
Earlier I had 8am - 12 noon window which was uncomfortable since it takes a while for me to get to the property, and the rush hour in our city is usually till 9.30 - 10.00 in the mornings, so I set 10am to 12 where 12 o'clock is the default time. I think, in general, it should be 10 to 12.
Hello, @Muslim4. Thank you so much for your participation in this thread 😊
What feedback have you received from guests about your checkout time? Do they usually request a late checkout?
Please keep us posted.
Hello, @Paula ! Thanks for your question! 😊
Guests prefer to check out at 12, they rarely ask to leave later. On the opposite, I had situations when guests had train or flight early morning, so they needed to leave at 8am, for example. Quite early. That's the reason I ask each guest their arrival/departure time in advance.
I do 10 am check out, but if they need a later time, I can easily accommodate them in most cases. The same goes for check-in. If I can accommodate them, I will do my best to ensure they receive the best experience possible.
Hello @Glen734, thank you for sharing your experience.
Do guests usually request late checkout?
Please keep us posted!
We currently use 10:00 am as our standard checkout time. I try to be flexible with guests and if we don't have a quick turn have let guests stay as late as 12:00 noon. I find any little extras you can do turns into repeat stays.
Hello @Gordon322, it's great to see that you offer some flexibility. Do you charge extra for late checkout?
Keep us posted!
Paula,
I have only had a couple of times that requests were made for late checkout so I didn't charge extra. If someone pushed the time until later in the afternoon I would probably charge them.
Hi Paula,
Replying here regarding guest checkout time. The checkout time on all of my properties is 11:00 AM. This gives guests adequate time to sleep in, enjoy coffee in a peaceful, quiet setting and get a load of laundry in the washer, as this helps out my cleaning person considerably. No one has ever complained about the checkout time and I feel that it is reasonable. I have adjusted checkout and checkin times on numerous occasions in order to better meet guest needs, but this have been very much a case by case basis. My checkin time is 3:00, but if the house is ready before then, I will let guests check in as early as 8:00 AM! Thank you--Jan
Hello @Jan13555, it's great to hear that you try to accommodate guests' requests.
Do you have any extra charges for early check-in or late checkout?
Please keep us posted!
12 seems perfect. If ever the request comes up I would have to measure my cleaning time before the next guest, if I have one and then let them know.
There have been times when my guest stay back to chat beyond the check out time when I did not have a guest coming and it has reaped me rewards and future bookings !
Hello....
I have only been hosting for six months. So, I am still testing the waters...
Right now, guests can check in at 2 p.m. and check out at 11 a.m. I do not allow back-to-back reservations. I believe these check-in and check-out times are the closest ideal times for travelers—my opinion, of course.
