When Airbnb show me how many views I get on my list, will it remove my own views and only show the guest views?

I am interested in knowing when Airbnb show me how many views I get on my list, will it remove my own views and only show the guest views?

Many thanks!

Hello @Rinus0

That's such a good question and I can't wait for the answer!  I've often wondered about this too.

I often use a private search mode to view my listing and imagine that if I click on it in private mode,  my views will count in the number of views for that period.

All the best
Joëlle

Hi @Rinus0 @Joelle43

I find the views confusing. As you say, on the Insights page it's hard to understand exactly what's measured and when.

I tend to set up custom promotions and it's easier to follow their views, as each promotion shows the views that it's had so far. But still strange! It's happened to me more than once that people booked some of the promoted dates, and the promotion shows "0 views; 2 bookings" ... apparently there are people who manage to book dates without looking at them 😊

Dear Shelley,

Indeed that's a very interesting finding 🙂

Hi @Rinus0 The view stats are not 'real time' views.

Airbnb stats shows the views of people searching for dates within the previous three months.

You'll have noticed that view stats update on Mondays and shows a number for 'week starting [date]'. That's because they already know the views for that period. You're seeing the views from the previous three months for the week beginning that Monday.

So, on next Monday 3rd March, you'll see the views for people who've searched for dates between 3-10 March in the previous three months. The views where you look at your own listing won't be counted unless you put in dates 3-10 March when you searched for your listing (I just have a 'preview' page saved to check how it looks, and these views won't be counted).

I only discovered this  is the way view stats work a month ago. It makes no sense to do it this way. Airbnb know my view stats for April, but I don't, and I won't know until April.

I attach a screencap in which Airbnb explains what average page views mean.
