Where are guest names on iCal calendar?

I have my Airbnb calendar synced with my iCal calendar so I can see all bookings at once.  It was awesome.

It showed the names of guests for my 3 apartments. My husband helps me and he could always see what guest was coming by their name on iCal calendar. Also my cleaners could see what guest I was talking about by their names on iCal.  Now only the Airbnb reservation number shows up , names are gone... this is really unhelpful for me, for my helper and for my cleaners.

PLEASE PUT IT BACK TO SHOWING GUESTS NAMES !!!!

For those who don't know what we're talking about when referencing the iCal file, it's a text file that looks like this (Identifying information removed):

You'll notice under "Description" it says "Not Available".  That's the problem.  I've contacted Airbnb with this information as well, and will wait for a reply.

I recommend everyone go through the "Contact Us" link and file a report / message with Airbnb if you haven't already.

Same issue here, I'm using smart locks that rely on extracting the guests name and phone number from iCal feed. My guests were definitely unhappy when they got locked out and do to a language barrier I wasn't able to properly explain.. I fear it will effect my rating this time. Please fix ASAP!

Very frustrating! My guests got locked out at 2:30 AM this morning which is the first time my “machine” has broken down. All my door codes were deleted and it seems nobody knows how to fix it. Please restore the iCal names and phone numbers, Airbnb!

I opened a ticket with airbnb support last night.  Got the same response as everyone else, but I responded and said this is clearly a change that airbnb made to the details that are included in the iCal export, and it's a well-documented issue among hosts, and I included a link to this thread as well as the related thread on reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/AirBnB/comments/bfhlgo/guest_phone_number_api_for_setting_door_lock_codes/). 

Just got anotgher response back from airbnb support: "We’ve been investigating the cause of the issue, and we’re working to resolve it as quickly as possible. Thanks in advance for your understanding."

Where did you submit a ticket with Airbnb?  I went through the "Contact us" page and sent a message.  Although I got a response, it was EXCEPTIONALLY scripted and offered that I'm always welcome to leave feedback through the feedback link.  

Where is the tech support ticket page/link?  I'd like to open one as well.

Separately, your update offers the best hope anyone has gotten so far!

I just used the "Contact Us" message.  After the initial reply from airbnb I responded and said they hadn't resolved my issue, and gave the additional details that I mentioned above.

Same Here. . codes not being set the ical has removed the contact and data portions that our lock automater uses (as well as our cleaners etc!!)  Please fix this issue Airbnb. .

I'm one of the people who wrote code that uses this to set door codes.  I'm really hoping they put it back.  If they don't I hope they open up API access so we can get at our reservation details with software.

I sure hope that this is a short term bug that will be fixed quickly otherwise it has the potential to be a big disruption to innumerable hosts and guests around the world. Not only was I affected as a smart lock user (lock codes deleted, guests locked out) but I have also built a series of hosting tools based on Siri shortcuts that rely on the information made availible via the iCal export so much of my Airbnb workflow has broken as a result. Not to mention the handful of lock compainies (August, Yale etc.) who's customers purchsed locks based on the Airbnb integration. If this is NOT a bug, people will have a right to be angry over Airbnb pulling the plug on this vital feature withut any warning. Guests being locked out of properties is unacceptable!

we are having the same issues. all codes in my 15 listings do not work suddenly. 

we have switched over to check in/out date and setup an automated message informing all of our future guests of the change.

even if airbnb does fix this, i might just keep the check in/out date format.

Confirming same issue with us. . guest codes all wiped. . I think i agree with the ical that we are using has now changed its format or information contained which we rely upon to automate our locks.. please fix this airbnb or revert to the old way of doing things.  its causing pain for your loyal users and fans/clients etc.

My best guess is this is due to security concerns. The ical pulls weren't secure. The weblink in the description requires the owner to login to get the guest details. This is far more secure than what they originally had.

So you're saying this is because Airbnb deliberately changed their ical functionality in the middle of the night without telling anyone? If this is true, it's the worst roll-out strategy every. People have guests that are locked out of their airbnbs at 2AM.
