Why is it that Airbnb is penalizing us (hosts) who were being verbally assaulted/harrased by a bad guest?

I am a co-host of a number of listings and is the main host of 1 listing.

I called up Airbnb support 2 days ago (Jan. 17) because of a review of a bad guest who put personal attacks against me on his review. Prior to that, he was verbally assaulting me thru the Airbnb Chat. I filed a complaint against the guest earlier and was instructed by the support personnel to block the guest so he can not continue with his attacks. The bad review was removed because it was found to be not aligned with Airbnb's review and content policy. I then requested the support personnel to have this investigated as this is not the first time that the guest verbally attacked me. Now, my Airbnb listing is temporarily suspended.

You have included the conversations from support, but you have not included yours except where you follow up to say you would like them to investigate further. What did you say in your other communications?

That being said, if the roles were reversed, the guest would not be suspended. They would be given a warning if that. AirBNB's new Winter Release even says this. "Guests MAY receive a warning". One of many examples of AirBNB being very pro-guest and anti-host.

Hello @Anton5601, I am sorry to hear about this. Just so you know, I have passed this on to the team for further investigation.

Suggestion: When you get Airbnb involved, try to keep confrontations to a minimum. They are dealing with millions of people and millions of human 'issues'. The guest was blocked, the review was removed, but now an investigation in verbal abuse and now something else? No bueno.
