Since the new release I have not been able to add or change rule sets for days on the calendar. Typically they are minimum days settings. I can click on custom settings and see the rule set but I cannot add or remove a rule set to a day anymore. What can I do?
I think you're going to the regular Calendar for the listing, and then clicking the date. That brings up the "Custom Settings" box. The regular calendar was changed by the update - presently when you click the rule set there, it just shows you what the rule set is (as you mention in your post).
I'm still able to add a rule set to a date in the Multi-calendar. In other words, if you click the Calendar tab at the top, but you don't click the listing to go into its regular calendar. Just stay on the Muli-calendar page and add the rule set there. I hope this works?
I'm trying the same thing and cannot get it to work. Did you find any way?
I looked at this again today, and wondered whether you may be encountering this issue on your phone?
If so, that's because Professional Hosting Tools (that gives you the multi-calendar and the ability to create rules), isn't available on a phone.
So when you click a date and then its rule on your phone, all you can do is see the rule. You can't edit it, because your device can't access the multi-calendar.
On the desktop, however, I'm able to click through from the rule in the regular calendar and it automatically goes through to the multi-calendar, where I can edit the rule.
So basically ... in case you've been trying to change the rule on a phone, try the desktop.
This is very frustrating - I also like using the regular calendar and I can't imagine why they've taken the function away from there - it makes no sense. It seems to be still possible to do it in the multi-calendar (but I don't like that calendar view!)
Thanks for hinting at the possibility to use the multi calendar in the meantime
This is absolutely INSANE. It is literally impossible to manage my calendar using the "multi-calendar". I'll be calling AirBnB first thing Monday. There is ZERO reason to have removed the full functionality from the full calendar view.
To start, the limited date view of it being a linear line only showing a minimal amount of days? The full calendar view has always been and is still the easiest way to look at and manage your property. Why in the world would they update that view, limiting permissions on what you can do? Doesn't make any sense.
Hi @Joshua1337
The overall view of the calendar did not change with the update. If you're seeing the linear view, that's the multi-calendar that you're looking at. You can click one of your listings' names (on the left of the linear calendar view), to go to the "normal" full calendar view.
The linear view only appears when you turn on professional hosting tools, and it only appears on the desktop (because pro tools are only available on the desktop). I think perhaps you recently turned on pro tools and that's what changed the landing page of your calendar? If you don't need the pro tools functions and you dislike its linear view, you can turn pro tools off again (or keep pro tools turned on, but click through to the full view calendar on the desktop by clicking the name of the listing).
The issue is on the full view calendar, the custom rule sets are no longer available to add/remove on dates.
OK @Joshua1337 , on the full view/regular calendar on the desktop I can click a date and click through to edit the rule set (or remove it by selecting "none") in the right hand pane.
Rules aren't available on the app, but if yours don't work in desktop view, it may be good to get in touch with Support to see what the issue is.
I no longer have Rule Sets as an option. Totally vanished. Only thing I have is Custom Settings which allows me to change the min night stay and that is it.
The "regular" calendar looks like your screenshot for days with no custom settings, including no rules applied @Joshua1337 . The rules can only be added in the multi-calendar (linear calendar) on the desktop if one has professional hosting tools turned on. It's always been that way, but I agree with you that it can be frustrating to work between 2 types of calendars.
With the new update, it became possible to access an already-applied rule set from the regular calendar (by going to custom settings, where the rule will show as in my screenshot) and to click through to edit it from there. So that's an improvement for us, but as you know, all of it is still only possible on a desktop.
I am not sure what you are saying. I have always only worked off the full calendar view and was always able to add/remove/edit rule sets from there. I also only work off my desktop. Rule sets have vanished from that view. When did that happen and why?
