Hi, I have a room listed on ABnB that's in a shared home so only 1 guest per booking is allowed. I don't have anything stating this in my description because I assumed that because I indicated this when I set up this listing with ABnB that if a guest entered more than 1 guest they wouldn't be shown my listing. Yesterday though a guest sent a booking request for herself and her toddler. She was upset that we "don't allow children" and I explained to her that the age of the 2nd guest wasn't the concern, it was that we only allow one person per room. She said that when she did her search she input one adult and one child and found my listing. Any advice to manage a guest's expectations would be most welcome. I don't see anyone listing the number of guests allowed within their description, although I do see it at the top of the listing (which I assume is an indicator of how that space is setup within ABnB).

I would add to your listing title and upfront in your listing @Kathleane0 and also click the not suitable for infants button
@Kathleane0 It is an age old problem that Airbnb does not consider under 2 year olds in its guest count. Even if you click the 'not suitable for infants' button Airbnb will still allow them to be booked. The best you can do is put it in your description and house rules but it is by no means certain the problem will not reoccur.
