Why is Airbnb still charging Hosts a Service Fee for New Bookings after the March Cancelation Policy Updates?

As Hosts, we've already been basically bankrupt by Airbnb's changes in Cancelation Policy, which have forced all of us to lower our costs to a point that they don't even cover our monthly expenses.

My question is why continue to charge us a Service Fee as well during the same period as the new Policy? We've been forced to create huge discounts for longer stays only to keep receiving messages from opportunity seeking guests that want an even bigger deal and negotiate using the Coronavirus situation as a bargaining chip.

@Airbnb Your statement here - "We did not want guests making the decision to put themselves in unsafe situations and creating a public health hazard because of a commitment to their bookings." - is total crap. Some guests are still travelling. You've just made it 80% cheaper & easier for them to blackmail us.

@Airbnb Why charge us the Service Fee for new bookings? I thought we were in this together, partner?

You took all our Cancelation Fees away when you could at least do a 50% split because hey.. it's neither the Hosts nor the Guests's fault but that wasn't enough. Let's also charge them a Service Fee on whatever scraps they do get further on as well.

Have a good one, Partner!
