Hi everyone I recently become a host about 2 months ago I have had a problem now a couple of times with guests wanting to cancel their booking but not doing so and asking me to do it for them.
This results in my listing being penalised in numerous ways by Airbnb including blocking out the dates and not allowing me to book anyone else in.
Unfortunately I had a situation where a girl wanted to cancel she asked me to do it for her and I refused being Easter weekend and not wanting to be panelised.
I was in harassed by her and her mother from a different Airbnb account for 3 days!
I called on Airbnb support for every message that was sent to me and a help fix this reservation and assist my guest in cancelling her booking.
I heard nothing from Airbnb for 2 days and then they decided to have my guest a full refund.
Airbnb has stated that my guests doesn't feel comfortable staying at my location because I have asked her not to.
It is true I asked her not to after 48 hours of constant messages and bullying from my guest account and from another Airbnb account.
With saying this I was still happy to have the guest stay but she was feeling forced to stay because she wasn't going to get a refund and I was feeling forced to have her here because I never wanted to cancel the booking in the first place she's the one that wanted to cancel.
Anyway it was a long drawn out process they gave the gas full refund and I am out of pocket.
I've been bullied and harassed by my guest and her mother from two separate accounts for 3 days.
I was let down by Airbnb support and I have completely no rights anime out of pocket as a host.
Because this woman wanted to cancel her booking wouldn't do it herself demanded that I do it and made things very very hostile.
I was actually worried that her mother we're going to rock up at our location we had guests it was very threatening but I still had to have her here because she didn't cancel.
I'm out of pocket because this girl wanted to cancel then add to the Airbnb guidelines I have a strict cancellation policy her booking was cancelled on extenuating circumstances apparently because she didn't feel comfortable here but no one's going to feel comfortable after your abused someone for 3 days!
I must say I'm very very very unhappy with my Airbnb experience and I concern for other hosts and members.
I haven't been able to get any proper Airbnb support or explanation regarding this topic.
As a host I've been abused and victimised.
I just want to let people know and ask if they've had any similar experience.
I hope this doesn't occur for you and I hope that me making this public can make some changes within the Airbnb policies because soon as a host is bullied or demanded the way that I have it should be end of story but I got no support and I am out of money financially.

Just to add the booking was cancelled 3 hours before check-in she was given a full refund and I received 0 payment.
Your post is very repetitive.
The lesson is simply not to respond after your first response. You could say simply. I'm sorry. My policy is not to cancel guest's reservations and will not respond to correspondence regarding my making a cancellation.
Out of interest, did Airbnb CS actually tell you the booking was cancelled under extenuating circumstances because the guest felt uncomfortable staying there or did they just say extenuating circumstances? I ask because she could have made something else up to get the refund from CS.
