@Quincy , For the 1st time since 2018, I did not make Superhost. In over the 7 years of hosting, I had my first host cancellation (April 2024). With over 177 stays in 2024, I lost my Superhost by .02% (1.02%) during the Oct - Dec 2024 assessment period. Not happy that Airbnb held my one and only host cancellation against me for a full year.

That is extremely disappointing. I do hope Airbnb can rectify this for you. @Ana2038

We have 3 listings - all have 5 star reviews and GUEST Favorite Seals.

I wish I could understand WHY our listings are NOT HIGHER on the search??  Guests tell us they had to search and search-  couldn’t find us on the map searches!!!   I cannot understand?   Anyone have any insight for me??   Thank you!  I love hosting and want to share our special place!  Natalie

Hi @Natalie-And-Glen0 😊

Congratulations on becoming a Superhost! 🎉

I recommend you ask this question in the community, and other hosts will be happy to help you better understand it 👉 What do you want to talk about?

Warm regards 🌻

I’ve been hosting for years and maintained superhost status throughout but after one cancellation I have now lost my superhost status.
It appears to be aimed more at the guests and support for hosts is minimal. I can not fathom out why you are penalised on different levels, penalty fee, blocked calendars and then to lose superhost status for one cancellation

Yaaay! I’m thrilled to be here and truly honored to be a Superhost! As a new host in my third month on Airbnb, this achievement means a lot to me. To answer the questions, I’ve focused on providing the things I would appreciate as a guest, such as fairness, kindness, and attention to detail. Here’s a breakdown of the strategies I’ve used and how my journey has been so far:

1. To ensure guests have a remarkable stay, I focus on clear communication, a clean and welcoming space, and thoughtful amenities like local recommendations and personalized touches. I offer quick refreshments to my guests. It's not stated on my listing, so it's usually a pleasant surprise to my guests. I also welcome each guest with a hand-written note in a 'Thank you' card.

2. For aspiring hosts, my advice is to be responsive, keep your space well-maintained, and go the extra mile to create a comfortable atmosphere.

3. The most joy I get from hosting is seeing guests enjoy their stay, and receiving feedback that I’ve made their experience special.

I hope this helps someone out there! 🙂

@Juliet929 We recently received a false, retaliatory review from a guest and immediately contacted Airbnb to have it removed. This review was posted just 30 minutes after I requested reimbursement for items they damaged in our home. The review not only falsely claimed our home was not in a private location—despite being situated on 3 acres of land—but also made the outrageous claim that someone was walking through the backyard making noise.

There are two feet of snow on the ground, with no footprints, and we own the two adjacent properties. One is currently being remodeled, and the other is my own home, where I live alone. No one was walking on the property, and I have all the evidence to prove this.

Despite providing this evidence, Airbnb refused to remove the review, citing that the guest had written some positive comments as well. However, it is clear this review was posted out of retaliation, and the false claims should not be allowed to remain on the platform.

This is the first negative review we’ve ever received in three years of hosting, and we’ve maintained a five-star rating throughout. We are deeply frustrated and disappointed by Airbnb's lack of support in addressing this situation. We feel completely dissatisfied and disgusted with how this has been handled. we are currently looking to move our rental to a different platform. Has anyone else experienced this?
