Default Guest Quantity

I'm one of the few hosts that like to charge per guest. This allows solo travelers or smaller groups to have a more affordable stay. There are a couple of issues with this method.

1. Guests sometimes don't change the amount of people in their party, on accident or trying to be sneaky.

2. They increase the amount of guests and they get sticker shock.

I think on the main profile page of the listing, by default,  it should show the cost with the max amount guests selected unless they have entered in a specific amount of guests as one of their search criteria. I've had a few people complain why the price is so high, when in fact if they are a party of less than four, they are getting a discount.

Has anyone else ran into this issue? Thoughts on the solution?

All the time. No sneaking guests as far as I know, but many that ask why they have to pay more when it says whole house. That is because they haven't read the listing. Many guests do, but far from all. You can create several listings for different total of guests, if you want. I haven't, way too complex for me. I just explain to them, and hope more read listing.
