Hello everyone!
As the song says, “food, glorious food, we’re anxious to try it”. There are so many delicious international dishes available, and travelling gives us the opportunity to try food that we might not have tried before. You might even have discovered a new dish after hosting a guest from another country.
With that in mind, I’d like to start a new game.
The rules are easy! Below I’ve listed twenty international dishes, and scrambled the letters up, so it’s your task to unscramble the letters and tell me what the dishes are! Bonus points if you can tell me the country that the dish comes from!
✅ Haggis - Scotland
✅ Cheese Fondue - Switzerland
✅ Pho - Vietnam
✅ Dim sum - China
✅ Tagine
✅ Meat Pie - Australia
✅ Moules-Frites - Belgium
✅ Poutine - Canada
✅ Frikadeller - Denmark
✅ Fish and Chips - England
✅ Crêpe - France
✅ Moussaka - Greece
✅ Nasi Goreng - Indonesia
✅ Lasagne - Italy
✅ Sushi - Japan
✅ Kibbeh - Lebanon
✅ Enchiladas
✅ Kimchi - Korea
✅ Bigos - Poland
✅ Paella - Spain
I hope you enjoy the game!
Jenny
That's correct, @Laurelle3 🙂 I chose a dish from my home country for the first one! I love the sound of your party! I don't really celebrate but I do enjoy having haggis from time to time.
I tend to eat vegetarian haggis now as it's healthier, but just as delicious!
@Emilie is no 18 Kimchi we first tasted it in Korea in 1996 we went there for the World Scout Jamboree. My husband loves the taste of fermented cabbage , chilli and garlic. I buy it at a speciality shop for him when I see it. Too spicy for me.
I thought @Jessica-and-Henry0 would have guessed this one.
11 : Crêpe - France
These are thin "pancakes", for a desert.
In The Netherlands we like the big pancakes ("pannenkoeken"), being a main dish.
In my town they are served on a "pancake"-ship, in a nearby village on an old "pancake"-train.
Fun for families with children....
@Emiel1 I'd never heard of pannenkoeken, but @Sybe and @Quincy might be familiar with it? I love the idea of the pancake-ship and train, it must be really fun for all ages indeed 😃

Cheese Fondue day sounds like heaven to me! I might have to take part next year!
Thank you so much for keeping things going here @Emiel1 - I think we can safely crown you the winner of this post!
14 - Neslaga - Lasagne
Although Italian in origin, according to the internet, "one of the first references to modern-day lasagne can be found in a 14th-century English cookbook that highlighted a dish with layers of pasta without the tomatoes."
Kind of cool! It's a staple of the American family kitchen. I have one in my freezer right now in case there's an impromptu dinner chez moi.
@Ann72 @Laurelle3 @Mike-And-Jane0
This puzzle is still unfinished..... i am out, no idea about remaining dishes.
@Jenny and @Emiel1 is no 17 Enchiladas.
I would rather have Tacos. Our famiily serve them as a self hejp meal with bought Taco boat shape shells - heated, cooked mincewith onion, garlic and taco mix, grated cheese, diced capscicum, onion, celery, lettuce, and tomatoe. I try to make a complete meal and our family members can put what they want.
