I have been trying to get help from Airbnb since mid June 2020 with a listing that was deactivated. The City of Seattle made a mistake, that has since then been corrected and I am in full compliance with my licenses. When we were able to call I did talk to a few people...but the case was sent to a "higher" level. Then the thread is closed without any resolution. And no one follows up...at all. We cannot talk to anyone, we can only start a thread that keeps being closed without resolution. I am seeing other hosts are having the same problem. I am at my wit's end as I have watched the support of hosts disintegrate starting 1 year ago. I am exhausted to have asked for help only to get people that are not able to help or resolve the problem.
@Catherine-Powell.....I really need your help...honestly the customer service is unacceptable as I feel I am watching this company fall apart after hosting for 10 years. Can you sincerely help me?

Rumours say Airbnb CS will provide higher level of support in november as new staff is there then... maybe we all have to wait. But is ridiculous how your issue is (not) treated.
Thank-you for your support, so rumors it is....it makes me incredibly sad at how badly the customer service is...@Catherine-Powell would be great to get some kind of help from you...
@Cheryl259 unfortunately it seems like Airbnb only ever responds to posts that are positive about the Airbnb experience. I have never seen a response to a problem. (I admit I haven’t read through all the threads.)
Not surprized at how this company is now doing business. I feel like they do not care if I were to go else where. Truly sad, as it was never this way. They work hard as we do to build a solid reputation, and then make a 180 degree turn. I noticed the changes starting last fall. And now we have no way to even talk to someone, not that would help.....

The same thing is happening to me. There is a glitch somewhere and I cannot list for less than 30 days. My license is in compliance but after a week of trying including 4 unresolved sessions and one phone call I give up.
Here is how to proceed...keep in mind that I had to wait for 4 months to get resolution...which is unacceptable.
Go to the city's website...make sure your business license & you STR license are both in compliance...just make sure, maybe even write/email in and ask them to check. I saw nothing amiss until the last week of July. Even as there was a problem starting mid June 2020.
My STR said my business license was expired...but my business license said nothing like that. I wrote the city, at first they said yes I had been send a notice....but none had ever been sent. Then the city sent me a official notice. They said I owed more for my business license, but their system would not allow me to make a payment on line. I had to mail in a check...but someone goes in once a week to process checks, and it could take 2 weeks. And at that point I only had 3 days to get my STR payment in to not throw that license into arears. So then the city had to make my business license not look like I owed anything so I could pay the STR. Great, I go to pay...the website freezed on me so it would not let me finish...it took 2 days to fix, but finally I could go in and pay the STR. Then I sent the check to pay the extra on my business license.
Then I started to bug Airbnb alot.....no help...since we super hosts cannot even call in...I tried for 7-8 weeks. Then I went back to the city...and I asked them to tell Airbnb that I was in compliance...I think that worked.....because Airbnb would NOT go to the city...I think the city can send a message that triggers a call to action....a few days ago I got a message from Airbnb that I could list my second room. But what a pain in the ass. I have watched Airbnbs customer service start to falter starting a little over a year ago. They laid off 25% of their employees, and we cannot call in any more...we can only message, and that was not managed at all. I have had cases closed without any help, unwillingness to help...being told time after time my complaint was being elevated to the next level. I just feel airbnb is on course to collapse. I use to get bookings full-time for May thru the end of October. I have hardly anything now. I just looked at another host that is always full....6 bedrooms in one of those big houses on Green Lake, he had 2 out of 6 rooms that are booked for a bit of time...but all the others are wide open...and there are not nearly as many places to host because Airbnb finally cracked down on all the people that did not have STR Licenses in late February 2020, 5 months later then they should have. So the amount of places are less, and bookings are less....there is your story.
