Good bye to Air BNB and this Community Forum

After almost 8 years of hosting and 7 years participating on this forum, I am saying good bye.  I changed my residence to a location which does not allow short term rentals.  I will continue as a traveler, but not as a host.

When I began this venture I was not very social media savvy and certainly not tech savvy.  I credit my time as a host, especially as a CC participant, with my growth in both areas.  Of course I am not blind to the short comings of this business and of this platform.  Mostly I was able to use what is best here and learn from what is not so good.

I thank the early CC participants for both my education and the acceptance that I felt when I ventured to respond to a discussion.  I also appreciate the many, many CC administrators who were generally gracious even during difficult times.

Please be well and kind to others,

Linda

@Linda108 surely, as a guest, you can still make use of the Community Centre. Also it will remind you of all the 'fun' you had when hosting!

@Linda108I am sorry to see you go... but somehow I doubt you will miss hosting after 8 years  🙂 Or will you?

Actually, I think I will miss hosting as each guest was like opening a wrapped present that I was hoping was lovely.  I do intend to change my focus to travel a bit more as hosting kept me home.

Dear Linda,  If you decide to travel and visit the United States you would be a welcomed guest.  We are 35  minutes from Atlantic City beach and casinos and the same from historic Philadelphia.  We aim to please our guests and make them

feel at home.  Always look forward to meeting new people.60482875_420425365403936_3866491011974823936_n (1).jpg

@Linda108

Linda you are part of the backbone of this Community Centre, you along with Dave & Deb from Edmonton, David from Como, Clare from California, Helga from Paris and Andrea from Amsterdam, God, it's you guys that made me a competent host.

I owe you a debt I can never repay....All I can do is wish you the very best at whatever life has in store for you.

Thanks for your advice, your friendship and your downright commonsense as an Airbnb Community Centre contributor ever since I stumbled along here in 2015.

You will be remembered mate, and if ever you are down this way our door will always be open for you!

Cheers.......Rob

Thank you, Robin.  And right back to you with the appreciation for your contribution to my hosting skills and enjoyment.  Without Air BNB obligations, I hope to travel a bit more and "down under" is definitely on my bucket list.
