How come potential guest can block my date without confirming?

Today I have a potential guest who is not responding to my messages.

Instead of reservation confirmed It says " checkpoint" and awaiting for verification.

While other guests can not book the room and I cant even unblock this date this guy blocked my date for today for more than 4 hours straight!
