How do I, the hostess, request a deposit for damages prior to accepting the guest

how do I, the hostess, ask for a $500 deposit in the two prior to accepting the guests to travel to my Airbnb?

You can add a security deposit to the listing as described here:

Add-a-security-deposit-to-your-listing

(But the amount is not actually charged on the guest).
