Hi
I am a super host and offer a private room in my residence where I also live.
Can you please clarify whether wearing mask and social distancing apply for private room listing.
Many thanks
Lucia
@Lucia1964 I see the blurb says we have till NOV. 20TH to commit to this.....
I'm not sure either how it is feasible in a lived in, shared space......
Thank you Helen for your comment.
Perhaps Catherine Powell Airbnb’s Global Head of Hosting be able to clarify this for me
Best wishes
Lucia
Hello @Lucia1964
I asked the same question yesterday on this forum.
according to the guidance it’s mandatory for home share hosts to wear masks when in communal rooms we share with guests.
I raised concerns as I am asthmatic and can’t have long term use of a mask as it affects my breathing.
Hi @Lucia1964 and welcome to the Community Centre. As @Helen3 pointed out, we have asked for some clarifications on this and as soon as we have any new information, we will update you further.
If there isn't a health-related issue (e.g. Asthma) the current guidance is that masks should be worn when in communal rooms/spaces with guests.
Thanks
Nick
Thank you Nick, much appreciate your response.
I hope to hear further information as soon as they are available.

Lucia

Hi @Nick
it’s now been a week and still no answer. It’s a simple yes or no answer - are hosts with health conditions which prevent them from long term use of masks exempted from having to wear them in a home setting or will we prevented from using the platform and our current and future bookings cancelled.
Appreciate it works differently in different countries @Nick - but my focus is getting clarification for the UK.
just as when Airbnb stopped UK hosts from operating from March -July when our government banned STRs, it’s clear Airbnb can and does vary policy from country to country.
The policy could say something like ‘in countries where governments exempt those with breathing difficulties and other disabilities from wearing a mask in public places, Airbnb will exempt hosts with these sort of long term conditions and disabilities from having to wear a mask at all times in a shared communal spaces shared with guests, as part of its mandatory cleaning policy as long as these hosts indicate under their house rules that this will be the case’
- There I have written the policy for Airbnb ... my bill is in the post 😁😁
@Catherine-Powell the latest COVID emails says: "You can find the following resources in the cleaning section of your Performance tab." I do not see anything on the performance tab is this because I am using the professional tool's dashboard?
Thanks!
