Can i deny an instant booking 

How do I refund a booking that canceled? Must they cancel by a certain time before check-in to be entitled to a refund 

When do I see deposits with instant booking? At same time or upon check-in? Or some other time?

Yes you can cancel an instant booking by saying you are not comfortable with the guest. I think you can do this up to 3 times.

Refunds for guest cancellations depend on your cancellation policy

You will see money for a stay released the day after check in. It can take up to 30 days for your first payout after which it should get to you within a week

Your questions suggest you may need to do some more research on how Airbnb works......

Do have a look at the Airbnb Help website as it covers most of your questions and many more about the basics of managing your listing.

I would always advise new hosts not to use IB so you can learn to screen out bookings that don't work for your listing .
