New to the Community Center? Introduce yourself here โ€Œ๐Ÿ‘‡

Hello everyone! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Welcome to the Community Center! ๐Ÿ‘‹  I'm @Bhumika , one of the Community Managers for our English Community Center along with my lovely team members @Quincy @Paula @Rebecca  and @Elisa  and we are thrilled to have you join us.

Let's kickstart this thread with a little about us Community Managers:

@Quincy : I'm from the Netherlands ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฑ I have been on the Community Center for 6+ years, and have been an Airbnb Host myself. I love cycling๐Ÿšฒ, playing footballโšฝ, and travelling๐ŸŒ . I love how dynamic and diverse the Community Center is as we meet Hosts from all around the globe.

@Bhumika ๐ŸŒ I was born in Gujarat, India ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ , and shifted to Toronto, Canada ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ last year! ๐Ÿ“ท I recently realized my love for photography and aesthetics. I love to capture mundane life and candid pictures. ๐ŸŒ† When I'm not working, you'll find me binge-watching thriller movies or exploring history.

@Paula : I am from Colombia ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ด and currently living in British Columbia, Canada ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ. I have a passion for Latin American culture (I love to dance ๐Ÿ’ƒ) . I've had the opportunity to visit around 20 countries ๐ŸŒŽ and plan to visit many more. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities, especially mountain biking ๐Ÿšฒ and hiking ๐Ÿ”.

@Rebecca : I'm from Cardiff in Wales originally but being a military child and a veterans spouse, I've travelled and lived in a lot of different places in the UK and Europe. I'm an environmentalist ๐ŸŒฟ and like to minimise my impact on the planet ๐ŸŒŽ as well as volunteering in my local community.  I love sea swimming ๐ŸŒŠ yoga on the beach ๐Ÿง˜โ€ and I'm a children's yoga instructor too! ๐Ÿ™Œ

@Elisa : I was born in Italy ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น and as a lover of unique experiencesโ€”from exploring the streets of Rome๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น , Paris ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท, and Toronto ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ to appreciating timeless art and cuisineโ€”I'm here to blend the old with the new.

Now it's your turn! Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? And is there something special about the location of your accommodation that you'd like to share?

Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Warm regards,

Bhumika

Team AirBnB - Together with my wife Sharmila, we host visitors to our farmhouse set on a fenced 5-acre lot outside Houston, TX, and to our Adobe house which we have built from scratch on our land

https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/1265985150630033339?viralityEntryPoint=1&s=76

The Adobe house is hand-made from natural materials with no air conditioning  and we live in one of the sections.

We welcome any guidance on how we can promote our sustainable living experience.

Hi @Vikas73 ๐Ÿ˜Š

Welcome to the Community Center, weโ€™re happy to have you here!

You have a great concept for hosting. How did you come up with this idea? ๐Ÿ˜

Would you like to share it with other hosts? Iโ€™m sure theyโ€™d love to learn more.

If so, ๐Ÿ‘‰ you can start a new conversation here.

Hi there, ๐Ÿ˜Š

We're very new to hosting on Airbnb, but we're learning a lot every day and excited to be part of this great community. Weโ€™re located in Villa de Leyva, Colombia ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ด โ€“ a town famous for its stunning colonial architecture and the largest cobblestone square in the Americas! Fun fact: Villa de Leyva is home to a 120-million-year-old fossil of a giant sea turtle, which was discovered right here!

Looking forward to sharing our place and learning from all of you!

Hi @Milton-Javier0 ๐Ÿ˜Š

Welcome to the community center!

Thank you for sharing this insight about your town. I didnโ€™t know that, and itโ€™s so interesting. ๐Ÿ˜

What is the last thing you learned on Airbnb? Is there any specific aspect you would like to learn more about in the future?

Thank you Elisa for the welcoming. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Recently I learned how to configure the pricing for a minimum number of people and charge by indiviual an specific amount until the full capacity of the location. Aslo, how to set rules for specific time of the year.

We are trying to learn more stategies not only to increase our reservations but also how to bring more or better expieriences to our guests. The goal to get a batch for guess preferred or maybe superhost, which is a long way but working hard every time.

It has been fun learning how to do a proper hosting and also delivery the best of your guest.

Thanks again and looking forward to learn more in this community. ๐Ÿ™

Hi Bhumika,

I am Marie and I am from South Africa. Since I retired from my full time job, I have had this dream of providing short-term rental as something to keep me occupied (apart from being a DIY decorator and gardener :-)).

Hi @Marie10481 ๐Ÿ˜Š

Welcome to the community center.

Congratulations on your retirement! ๐ŸŽ‰

You have a wonderful hobbies. ๐Ÿ˜

Since you are a DIY decorator, did you decorate your guest house by yourself as well?
