New to the Community Center? Introduce yourself here โ€Œ๐Ÿ‘‡

Hello everyone! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Welcome to the Community Center! ๐Ÿ‘‹  I'm @Elisa , one of the Community Managers for our English Community Center along with my lovely team members @Quincy @Paula @Rebecca @Bhumika @Alex @Emilie and we are thrilled to have you join us.

Let's kickstart this thread with a little about us Community Managers:

@Quincy : I'm from the Netherlands ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฑ I have been on the Community Center for 6+ years, and have been an Airbnb Host myself. I love cycling๐Ÿšฒ, playing footballโšฝ, and travelling๐ŸŒ . I love how dynamic and diverse the Community Center is as we meet Hosts from all around the globe.

@Bhumika  ๐ŸŒ I was born in Gujarat, India ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ , and shifted to Toronto, Canada ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ last year! ๐Ÿ“ท I recently realized my love for photography and aesthetics. I love to capture mundane life and candid pictures. ๐ŸŒ† When I'm not working, you'll find me binge-watching thriller movies or exploring history.

@Paula : I am from Colombia ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ด and currently living in British Columbia, Canada ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ. I have a passion for Latin American culture (I love to dance ๐Ÿ’ƒ) . I've had the opportunity to visit around 20 countries ๐ŸŒŽ and plan to visit many more. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities, especially mountain biking ๐Ÿšฒ and hiking ๐Ÿ”.

@Rebecca : I'm from Cardiff in Wales originally but being a military child and a veterans spouse, I've travelled and lived in a lot of different places in the UK and Europe. I'm an environmentalist ๐ŸŒฟ and like to minimise my impact on the planet ๐ŸŒŽ as well as volunteering in my local community.  I love sea swimming ๐ŸŒŠ yoga on the beach ๐Ÿง˜โ€ and I'm a children's yoga instructor too! ๐Ÿ™Œ

@Elisa : I was born in Italy ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น and as a lover of unique experiencesโ€”from exploring the streets of Rome๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น , Paris ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท, and Toronto ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ to appreciating timeless art and cuisineโ€”I'm here to blend the old with the new.

@Alex : I'm originally from Spain ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ, but my passion for traveling made me move to Toronto๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ this year to explore the culture and add another unforgettable experience to my journey โœˆ๏ธ. I'm also passionate about all kinds of sports โšฝ๏ธ (especially football, in which I played at a semi-professional level) and love to discover new dishes everywhere I go. ๐Ÿฅ˜

@Emilie : I was born in France ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท, raised in French Polynesia ๐ŸŒบ and Morocco ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฆ, and have settled in the UK for 14 years now! On evenings and weekends, you will find me spending time with my dog, working on a jigsaw, or trying my hand at some new cuisine. ๐Ÿฒ

Now it's your turn! Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? And is there something special about the location of your accommodation that you'd like to share?

Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Warm regards๐ŸŒป,

Elisa

Hi All!

My name is Noshin and I'm a new to hosting. I'm looking to have some traditional listings but I'm experimenting first with my own house as a shared space. I want to make sure this hosting thing is right for me first! I've had 2 guests so far and am currently hosting my third. It's a LOT of work right now, since everything is new, but I love helping customers and being hospitable so it's rewarding. I'm also learning a lot. Hope to get to superhost!

Hi @Noshin2 , welcome to the community ๐ŸŽ‰ It's great to hear that you're passionate about being hospitable and helping your guests. Hosting can indeed be a lot of work, especially at the beginning, but it's wonderful to know that you're finding it rewarding.

Since you're experimenting with your own home as a shared space, have you faced any specific challenges while hosting guests?

I come from a software engineering background, but over time, my curiosity about how platforms like social media, search engines, and e-commerce work turned into a full-time passion for marketing.

Iโ€™ve spent Ten years  diving into the psychology of what makes people click, buy, and engageโ€”whether itโ€™s crafting the perfect product description or optimizing listings for visibility.

What excites me about Airbnb
The way the platform functions is so similar to other digital ecosystems Iโ€™ve worked with, from search algorithms to understanding buyer psychology. Iโ€™m eager to apply those skills to create a guest experience that stands outโ€”not just in terms of visibility but also in delivering what guests truly want.

Hereโ€™s something Iโ€™ve been working on recently

Iโ€™ve reviewed over 5,000 reviews from properties priced over $500 a night, analyzing what guests are truly looking for, their state of mind when they land on Airbnb,

how they compare pricing, and the exact words they use when theyโ€™re happy with their stay or host.

This research has given me invaluable insights into guest psychology and behavior.

Iโ€™ve already started applying these findings to people in my circle, and the results have been amazing: more page views and more bookings.

Iโ€™ll be sharing these insights here in the community because I believe they can help us all create better experiences for our guests.

Iโ€™d love to connect with hosts, learn from your experiences, and share my knowledge wherever it can help.

If youโ€™re curious about how SEO, marketing, or buyer psychology can elevate your listings, letโ€™s talk!

Looking forward to being part of this inspiring community. ๐Ÿ™Œ

Wishing you all the best! ๐ŸŒป

My name is Stephen, and I was a host for a year in 2019.  Things seemed to have changed quite a bit with the forms, info, options, etc..   I live in Santa Fe, NM and in the last 4 years turned a store room and garage into a living space, which is where we moved into.  I just listed my old house, which I renovated and added onto during those 4 years, as my rental.  I  have a few questions related, which I hope to get answered in this forum. I will start with the Critique My Listing link I see below from Paula.

Hi @Wejdene0 , thank you for introducing yourself to the community!

It's great to hear about your three properties. Definitely beautiful place to travel ๐Ÿ˜

As data engineering can be a complicated job, I am really curious on how are you managing both the worlds of hosting and a full time job. Do you have a co-host? Or do you prefer to manage the listings by yourself?

Regards,
Bhumika
