Rejecting because of covid-19, bye superhost status
Im wondering if more people have this problem, and what to do about it?! My super host status has gone to sh*t these past few months and Airbnb isn't doing anything to prevent it. Im getting a lot of request that I Simply cannot accept due to local covid regulations. For example:
- 5 girlfriends from Another Country want to visit for a night. First of all, not allowed in one house due to covid and also they would need to quartine for 10days.. So I explaine, and decline.
- 12 friends wanting to have a dinnerparty in my home ( suitable for 6 ).
Etc etc etc
My home is ( due to covid regulations) available for a one household Family of max. 6 people
Only respons Airbnb has is sorry, not our problem, you can take your home offline to fix the problem of having to decline people...

One of the options to limit the amount of "declines" is to ask the guest to retract the booking request, especially when booking is it not possible or allowed. Most of them will do !
If it is not a "booking request", but just an "Inquiry", then there is not obligation to decline (just answer the within the time limit to keep respons rate)

@Emmie10 Your acceptance rate is not part of the criteria to achieve Superhost status. You need only worry about your overall rating and your response rate. Furthermore, as Emiel points you only to accept/decline (or ask the guest to withdraw) a booking request. An inquiry only needs a written response (ie. sorry, cannot host you due to covid-19 restriction.) But I cannot find any of these restrictions you mention above on your listing. Why not have this information available to guests so they will know they cannot stay with you before they even try to book.

These restrictions are for all foreign travelers coming to the netherlands, it's not just that they can't stay in my home. They can't stay in the country ( without quartaintine) legally. They differ per incoming country and reason for travel.
All the Resevervation are from countrys that have similair/ or heavier restrictions on foreign and domestic travel. And similair social distancing rules.
As for a Resevervation of 12, in a House listed for 6 even when there is no covid, that would be crowded.
I asked Airbnb why my superhost status was under 65, they told me it was because in the number you have to work on, they combine acceptance and response. My response rate Suddenly dropped from 100 to under 85, but I never had the response time run out. Airbnb couldn't say which messages I missed or didn't awnser in a timely manner. I guess I don't get the algaritme.

@Emmie10 other recent posts suggest that there is an Airbnb acknowledged bug re response rates that they are 'working on'. Hopefully when they fix it all will be well with your response rate again

Why don’t you put up front in your listing what the restrictions are....
”due to Covid restrictions up until xxxx date we are only able to accept a maximum of 6 guests from xxxx”
this help minimise those trying to book who don’t meet your country’s restrictions
