Our place takes in quite a Scandinavian feel in the winter and I just love taking photos of it. Share your favorite recent pics of your listing!
Yes @Sarah977. Seasons are relative. I’ve got plants I only see across the wet season, that die back when the rains stop! Technically in Darwin, although we only have a wet and dry season, the indigenous nations in my area, name six seasons... and that is truly, more correct.
As for climate assumptions, we definitely don’t have snow here in Darwin, 😱 but southern states near the highlands do. For me it might get down to 13 or 15° Celsius ( (55 to 59° Fahrenheit) but it only lasts a “very” short time but our dog wants a vest on, because it’s freezing to her! If we were further south, or inland from sea influence - add some wind chill factor and cloudy skies then I want to hibernate and put the heaters on!
As for plants, the world is a smaller place when we start looking what can grow in our gardens. I see the same plants in Indonesia, equatorial and more northern Asian countries Chiang Mai in northern Thailand and southern areas of China. So it’s little wonder that plants are common across climate zones.
But with Oz fauna: we have only wallabies in the Top End. No kangaroos or koalas as the climate and vegetation does not grow here. But we have great barramundi fishing and plenty of saltwater crocodiles, which are more aggressive than the American alligator. 🐊

Spring has sprung here im Maryland! Here's our recent porch decor.
As a Scandinavian (I'm Norwegian, living in Sweden), I must agree: Your listing looks like it might be in Scandinavia! 🙂
In Stockholm we had quite a bit of snow this winter (but for a short period of time) - and I love it! Living in a suburb to Stockholm (20 min out), and being able to go both cross-country and downhill skiiing, 5-10 min drive from my house, or walk down to the bay to go skating, is a luxury to me. But I love that winters here in Stockholm are relatively short - I come from northern Norway (North Cape), and we could have snow from November to May...
Right now, we are "in-between" in Stockholm - the snow is gone, and everything is grey/yellow/beige/dusty. But we are starting to see the very first spring flowers come to life - and not too long from now, it will be so intensely green!
@Trude0 we had a trip to Denmark and Sweden planned last year...it didn't happen. I am really eager to visit at some point and find where my great gran was born. Love your photos!
So sorry to hear you had such a great trip planned, and had to cancel - like so many others! I had some American guests booked, that had to cancel trips they had been planning for a long time and looking forward to.
But better times will come! 🙂
