The Bahamas Sabbatical. Caribbean residents cannot apply??

So Airbnb has started a Bahamas sabbatical where people can apply to assist with the redevelopment and preservation of its archipelago. However, residents from other Caribbean countries are not allowed to apply?

Jamaica literally shares the same waters with the Bahamas and ALL the Caribbean islands do, hence CARICOM. We have Jamaican citizens that reside there (LEGALLY) and contribute to the development of the island. We are in the process of constructing new and building our own reefs, we are trying in the fight against climate change, and you mean to say that we are not allowed to help our neighbors in this medium?

Someone please, make it make sense as I feel as if I'm missing a point here. I cannot for the love of me wrap my head around the idea that other Caribbean countries would not be invited to apply. The Caribbean always get treated like an outcast to the rest of the world except when it's vacation time! Even when it involves our own Caricom members, but I didn't expect it from Airbnb. Unless of course, the Bahamian government doesn't want our help and really just wants to put tourists to work?
