Legally I believe (although others will disagree) that your contract is frustrated and you should get your money back. However you are in a nightmare situation where if you don't pay the 2nd half of the cost you will have defaulted and probably lose all your money.
What is the cancellation policy for the listing? Even its strict you would get 50% back (depending on dates) so you lose nothing by paying the balance and then arguing for a refund
