Unvaccinated Housekeeping

Recently our property housekeeper notified us her child tested positive for Covid. She will be tested next week according to her Dr.’s recommendation. She is expecting all 7 family members to get it. She and her husband are not vaccinated and will not be getting the vaccination. Her husbands employer is requiring him to quarantine for 14 days, however she said she cannot afford to not work so she is till working till she gets tested. We asked her to wait to clean our property till she gets an all clear from her Dr., we will pay her for the next clean even though we will be doing it ourselves to help them a bit.

We are considering requiring housekeeping to be vaccinated to help protect everyone. I am immune compromised and taking all necessary precautions, I do have contact (masked) with the housekeepers occasionally. Housekeeping is aware of the required cleaning protocol.

We would appreciate other hosts input on this, Thank you in advance.

@Dave295  No, the vaccines do not contain aborted fetal cells.

Here's the actual science.

https://www.nebraskamed.com/COVID/you-asked-we-answered-do-the-covid-19-vaccines-contain-aborted-fet...

I see that now. It's that they started out as fetal cells.  And are now the descendents of the original fetal cells. I'll let my friend know that.

@Dave295  Disgust and anger isn't hate. One of my own daughters is an anti-vaxer and I can assure you that I love her dearly. It's her choice that disgusts and angers me.

Disgust, anger and no sympathy. Up to you really

@Dave295  Sympathy? 90% of Covid patients filling the ICUs and dying are now the unvaccinated.

My sympathies lie with the doctors and nurses trying to save their lives, exhausted and emotionally distraught at having to watch patients die who never needed to end up there had they only gotten a little jab in their arm.

My sympathies also lie with seriously ill non-Covid patients who can't get a hospital bed because they are crammed full of unvacccinated Covid patients.

I understand. The doctors and nurses are under a lot of stress. You mentioned I think that your own daughter is anti vax.  I hear you that your sympathies lay with the vaccinated and doctors and that you have zero sympathy for any unvaccinated people. And your angry and not full of hate. Let's all have a good day now.

@Katja202"Even when vaccinated you still can spread the virus."

Just so you know, the chance of a vaccinated person spreading the virus is MUCH LESS than an unvaccinated person spreading the virus because it has been documented that those who are vaccinated and happen to carry the virus have a lower viral load.

It's all about mitigating your chances of catching/spreading the virus. Nothing is 100% but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try to lessen the chance if you can. Kind of like wearing a seatbelt won't guarantee I won't get hurt in a car crash, but it will certainly lessen the chance so why would I chance not wearing my seatbelt?

@Suzanne302 thank you for the explanation. My contribution to this topic wasn’t about the direct effects of vaccinations. It was about the effect these vaccination's have on our social interactions. I think that thats the biggest side effect no one thinks about. The way people tread each other and judge each other … i beter stop typing here. But thanks again for the explanation but sorry i do not agree. Vaccins are not the problem. Peoples behavior in relation to the vaccins and the virus is. Vaccinated or not. Look  around and see what people are doing and wishing to each other.

@Sarah977 And i don’t think that what ever i am saying will be the right words. I hope you will not be angry with me. Let’s leave it at we agree to disagree. And sorry if I upset you with my perhaps poor choice of words. English isn’t my first language

@Katja202 I agree diverse opinions are welcome. I also agree that people have a right to choose what they do with their own bodies. Finally, and most importantly, I also believe that decisions have consequences and if, in this case, people are choosing not to be vaccinated then they should expect consequences such as not being allowed to care for people in the UK care sector. Yes vaccinated people can transmit the virus but the risk is way lower than for vaccinated people - Spread of disease is all about risk mitigation.

@Katja202 "You describe people who have the human right to dispose of their own body as disgusting. "

No I didn't. I didn't say that they, as people are disgusting- one of my own daughters is an anti-vaxer. I'm disgusted by their attitude of ignoring public health measures to stop the spread of a deadly virus in favor of their "right to choose".

"It makes the world a much beter place if we would all be a bit more caring."

Yes, it does. And unless there is a real medical reason why getting vaccinated would endanger an individual's health, choosing not to get vaccinated shows a complete lack of caring for anyone but themselves. Peoples' "opinion" on vaccinations is immaterial when they then clog up the hospital ICUs forcing medical personnel to treat them for what could have been prevented by a little jab in their arm.
